I am a Producer for American Road Player, Let's Talk

Just sent $50 for the shirt package. Still eyeing the DCC event deal as well.

C'mon fellers, this could be the show we have all been waiting for ;)

Thanks and Good Luck.

RJ

Thanks for the support! The donations are starting to come in! Let me know if you need more info about the Weekend Package and I will gladly fill you in!
Thanks
Peyton

everyone can also spread the word on our Facebook Page where the likes of Earl Strickland has shown his support!

You don't really mean to thank supporters for "donating" right? A donation is when the donor doesn't expect anything in return; when folks fund this endeavor you are promising to send them the goods in return.

I sincerely hope you and the production crew do not have the notion that the money contributed by supporters are mere donations...

Sure, only Russian Chalk Czars can afford that type of action.

What you talkin' about Comrade? I'm just a poor boy selling chalk I steal on the streets of Moscow... all profits are sent straight to Mr. Putin to support the cause ;)

people are sending in donations.
Maybe receiving a poster or a hat in return, but the money sent in is a donation.

Or did i miss something?

"Donation" is one of the terms that is commonly used in the crowd-funding wold. Along with "Perks" and "incentives." So, I am using those terms in that context. When you "Donate" to the site, you choose a level and that level has the perks which can be products, memberships, exclusive content and so on... You are guaranteed to receive your Perks as long as the campaign meets it's goal. It is no different than purchasing any product online and you will process your purchase through Paypal. Also, I hope that it is even more evident in the fact that we have partnered with very well respected companies in this industry. I hope this clears up any misunderstandings.
Thanks
Peyton

*** If the campaign does not meet its goal, you will receive a 100% refund.

That is correct. The Indiegogo "Donors" will not have any interest in the "profit" of the show, so that is why they receive Perks.
Thanks

As I said if it wasn't for gambling on Snooker and the Books that sponsor the events, Snooker would be in the same shape Pool is in.

Be careful, if what you don't like went away, so might Snooker be circling the drain as Pool is. Just something to think about !
So many times I hear Euro's talking about not liking or wanting to be associated with gambling and yet every time I turn around
there is another tournament being backed by a bookmaking company, or their talking about what the line is on the match, how odd ?
Not to mention many of the commercials are from other gambling company's.

Yeah, just like when one third of the uk tuned in at midnight to watch the conclusion of a snooker match LONG before the advent of internet betting.

18 million people, gripped by a sporting contest. Who'da thunk?

Those of you that work in this 'pool is only where it is now because snooker is sponsored by betting' angle are simply delusional.

This myth must stop. One is a great sporting spectacle and the other ain't. You are free to work out which is which.

I think the show is a great idea! Although there are many, many players who play better than Scooter, his personality is what will make the show successful. I do have a question though... since it is supposed to be a "reality" show, what happens if Scooter and the gang go broke on the first night? There is a chance of that happening if it truly is reality... They start out with $2500, have to put gas in the car, pay for a hotel room, eat, and then make a game to profit after the expenses of the road?

Then u get to see the good stuff.Where scooter gets on the phone and rustles up 50 to 100 at every western union for the next 100 miles...

An episode where scotter's robbery victims show up and give him a chance to talk his way out of it before they put the final beat down on him he deserves. That is the perfect segway to introduce a real pool player and star, KM, to the viewing masses.

Some questions

Payton,

i was looking over the donation list & it caught my attention that you personally have donated 100.00 to the fund.

Looking over the names i am curious as to how many family members & close friends have donated to your cause as well.

I only ask because those kind of donations skew the look of the total amount donated.

I am also curious to know if over the past three years, has the cast of characters you have been filming put anything monetary into the project?

I am not trying to rain on the parade, i truly believe that these are legitimate questions.

Thanks,

slim

I feel you-

I won't support hustling culture.

I do not enjoy an overt con-job or blatant stealing-
that being said-there are those who know the score and play anyway...

I cannot speak for the motivations of people, and for those that like to pay to "try" for the thrill,
but they're out there.

Know that the allure of pool is wide and the people around, vast and varied

At least this group is out there garnering attention and developing internal and external dialog about it.

We know the things that interest people about the game are the exact things that hurt us as well.

Geez, give it a rest already  Nobody cares if cast and crew put money in or not, they are putting their time in. And really, it is none of your business, there is not one person here that believes for a second you are gonna donate a dime, so move on already,

I could not care less what you think.
if you will notice the questions were addressed to PAYTON.
interesting to see that you believe you speak for everyone on this forum.
no , I do not intend to donate to this venture, what difference does that make?
if you have a problem with my posts feel free to not look at them & even better, not respond to them.

Hi Slim,
Yes I donated $100 to make sure everything was working properly. As of now, I think there are only 2 or 3 donations from family and friends. One of the ideas with this type of campaign is to use your friends and family to seed the project but this is a business approach we are taking, not a "pet" project or hobby so we have stayed away from asking for anything from them. None of the cast has put any money into this project or any other. All costs have been covered by myself and my company.
Thanks
Peyton

PAYTON,

i see.
This crowd funding concept is new to me & seems a little strange.
I am a little stuck in the past, i guess.

Thanks,

Hello All, This has been a great boost to the campaign and I am reading a bunch of awesome posts about Keith and your support for him and the show. The funding campaign is starting to work and I am seeing a lot more traffic from outside interest. Let's keep this going. Show your support with as little as 15 or 25 Bucks. If you can't donate, that's cool, spread the word to all your circles and help me get rid of these

Brand New Diamond Pool Tables that are reduced drastically
Diamond Ball Pollisher and table lights

***These will make a huge dent in our goal

Derby City Tickets
Hats and Shirts

Someone has to be ready to buy out there. Help lead me to them!!!

Peyton,

I feel your pain being burdened with those big tables and such to get rid of. Fortunately the AZB crowd is a caring bunch! I personally will volunteer to store one or two tables, lights, and ball cleaners as long as needed. All I ask is that you cover shipping. Out of my own pocket I'll take care of set-up so I can take some nice pictures and people can see what they are buying.

No need to thank me, glad to help!

Hu

OK, I have had my fun. Perhaps "get rid of these" wasn't the best wording! Have you done the basics? An ad in the wanted for sale forum here if you haven't already and with Mike's permission perhaps a note in the room owner's forum that they are offered in the sales forum. The discounted tables, lights, and ball cleaners might be able to be sold as a straightforward business deal.

I will be buying in, probably at the two-bit level. Wishing you every success with this! I think you need two crews on the road now, pair Keith and Billy I as one team, Scooter and Spanky as the other and have them meet at the Derby. Next series could have Keith mentoring one youngster on the road and Billy I the other. What Keith and Billy don't know about the road between them ain't known!
