I Am So Over Earl

scsuxci...Wow! Where did I say that I AGREED with this kind of behavior? All I said is that it exists now, and always has. In match or tournament play this kind of behavior will not be tolerated (for the most part). That said, gambling is just that. The behavior between the two combatants is whatever the two of them will/can endure. I have never acted the way Earl does, and don't condone it...but that doesn't mean it will go away.

so because its gambling its okay to act like a jackass, insult your opponent and try to throw him off?Well if thats the case should Shane hoof him in the balls everytime he gets down to shoot? So since sharking has been around from the start of time,it should never be corrected and maybe improved upon? After awhile ,its got nothing to do with being a better sportsman but has everything to do with being a better person!

I never thought I would say this but I'm finished watching Earl play. Until the powers that be hold him to the same standard as every other player he will continue his sharking and bad sportsmanship. I can not believe someone hasn't slapped the $hit out of him yet for his sharking. To me a true pool player shouldn't think his actions are funny or good for the game. Earl is one of the greatest players ever but how he acts in matches takes a lot away from that. Johnnyt

In pool, there are NO powers that be. Just a bunch of rag-tag independent events. There is NO ONE to hold anyone in pool accountable. That's just the way it is and, it seems, just the way pool players want it...

What's funny, is all of you who complain about Earl and his actions....are either right here WATCHING him play, or at least checking in on how this TAR match is going, that in itself makes many of you hypocrites, say one thing...but do another.

Watching Earl play but saying that no one should watch him play because of the way he behaves would be hypocritical.

Watching Earl play and saying that he should conduct himself more professionally and have more respect for his opponents is not hypocritical.

scsuxci...No you didn't...did you? Did you just compare Earl Strickland to Charles Manson? OMG...that is unconscionable. Manson KILLED people (or had others do it) for sport! Nothing Earl has ever done in his entire life could be compared to that.

We all know of Charles Mansons name to, but doesn't mean I want him over for dinner. !

Perhaps, but to many on this site, pool is more than a matter of life or death...

Earl is a billiard savant. When he's playing he's brilliant. Otherwise he's completely retarded. I kinda like that about him though...

You must be kidding.I was referring to the guy saying his wife doesn't know pool but knows Earls name.Meaning I don't know Manson but I know the name ,and pool doesn't need the mindset of Any publicity is good publicity because it doesn't

I don't think you act like this but when you say"There are no "standards"and never have been, for gambling behavior. To suggest anything else is Ludicrous,IMO".So to me this says you do agree with this behavior but only when it comes to Gambling.

You're over him?

Was it a bad breakup?

Are you curled up on the sofa with a box of tissues and a pint of Haagen-Daz?

Does he call, email or text?

Are you gonna be on Oprah?

If 20 guys acted like Earl the refs would have to carry a stun guns!

Charlie Manson? Common, in this situation, an analogy like that "IS" the borderline comment of a retard!
You mentally challenged, DUDE?

Wouldn't you agree, ridiculous overstatement is the strength your playing too, not truth, in either of these quotes's of yours?

"Crazy, you call me Crazy? Your the one that's crazy Bugliosi!"
p.s, "Maybe your quotes, are in appropriate company, after-all!"

My Quotes are dead on right!!As out there as my comments may seem to some is the same way I feel when people condone Earls behavior by thinking the way he acts promotes the game of pool because people all over the world know his name. And for anybody that disagrees with Jay keeping a tight leash on Earl in a event is truly not loving the sport of pool! And who still uses the word"Dude".Must be a redneck!

scsuxci...Jay and other TD's should keep a tight leash on Earl...during tournament play. What he does in gambling matches is up to the two opponents. Let's clear up something here. Gambling pool (at least in the past 6 decades) has never been, for the huge majority, the "sport of gentlemen". To turn a blind eye and say this kind of behavior doesn't exist (or even that Earl is the only offender) is ludicrous. To say that things could/should be different is not. That still does not make it so.

And now your insulting the" Mentally Challenged"Good for you:)I seen on the other thread that you think Earl is great for the game of pool.Obviously were at opposite ends in our opinions and I respect that but agreeing with his behavior tells me your clueless when it comes to pool or the mentally challenged!

So do you support this kind of behavior while gambling,Yes or No?

I just read four pages and have puked three times..... First, tournament or gambling, it doesnt matter. Earl needs to stop being a jackoff or stay at home. If you think differently, you're an enabler and should be in therapy right next to him. Second, someone needs to take a night course in analogies.....

How else do you want him to say it? He doesn't condone it. His point is, when gambling, you are going to encounter it at times. There's a lot of shit in the world.
I read that to along with the other stuff which made me think different, thats why I said to forget about anything previously said and go with a simple yes or no.
