I am thinking to raffle my JUSTIS CASE 3x6

DITTO!!!:bow-down:

by having some of these rediculous markups were basically hosting a lottery, not a raffle. raffle = cost of all spots = retail value of product raffled. lottery = 1 dollar ticket for 1:176 million chance to win 12 million dollars. same reason a lot of people wont buy tickets unless the jackpot is huge. read up on expected value in any poker book and you'll know what i'm talking about. if the odds x money wagered is more than what you get back out of it you are making an ev- decision and essentially losing money just placing the wager. opposite holds true as well. this is why some raffles fill slowly and some are full in two days. like a 57-60 dollar spot for a sw. it's more of a matter of the holder of the raffle staying honest to the community.

When you go to a pool tournament and they raffle off a custom cue. Do you think they only sell enough tickets to match the value of the cue?

(I wouldn't raffle my SW for less than $60)

Maybe not all the time, but most of the time. This is for production cues mostly though, because I have not seen too many custom cues raffled at tournaments. Usually see Schons, Predators, Pechauers, etc. being raffled. They usually tell you how many tickets and it usually comes out to te retail value, from what I have seen. Retail is still a lot more then dealers would normally get for a cue.

NO, it's called being fed up with other's greed.

-Ross
far from jealous from you...

Fed up with greed? Since when is it a crime
to make a profit? If you don't think a Justis case is worth the
price of admission then don't buy a spot. Nobody is holding a
gun to your head and making you buy a spot. Obviously there
were at least 46 people who disagreed with you...because they
got in...Your statement should have read "far from jealous of you"

It's an open market and consumers has the right to question the cost. Unless you're rich, most consumers will try to get a bargain and that goes for any product. The seller is responsible to answer all inquiry in relations to the product that is being sold. Of course theres a profit that has to come out of this, it's business and someone has to make money but at the same time we're all trying to get a deal. Not everyone will be able to justify paying a certain $$ but I guarantee that there will always be others who's willing to. Heck if someone is willing to raffle a Searing I'd jump on that raffle lol

Correct, I wrote that before coffee at 7am my time... You got me good on that last statement....

I would love to sit here and argue with you back and forth, but the fact of the matter is you have no perception of what fair market value is. You just look to shear that lamb as close as possible.

Keep on keepin' on, buddy. You must really need that cash more than most. May I suggest getting a sign and standing on the corner as well? People just give away money that way.

knows that rackrunner's morals are worth $320...

really?

Come down to $25 and I'm in.

Its ok for your buddy to make a 30% profit on his case but not here. This is the exact problem I sen coming from the stupid raffle prices. Raffles are meant to receive face value for a produst and usually have a governing body. Here the sky is the limit. I hope the raffle section falls off the page personally.

Hal isnt this the same argument I had with you. Unbelievable how fast you switched sides.

the raffle might bring in more money than what the cue is worth at a pool tourney or league banquet. but that money is going back into the tourney or league. big difference there buddy.

I'm definitely not against raffliers making money. However this is rather extreme. Like I said before, I'm in for $25 but not for $35.

Hell I guess if it started to fill up, I'd buy one at $35 also.
