I Didn't Know They Were Such Buddies

SVB was asked about BB and the US Open fiascos during a TAR interview. His reply was simply that Barry tries to do a lot for pool and all he gets is grief for it. He was very supportive of him. Since he knows BB better than me (and probably better than any of us) I tend to take his word for it.

I don't blame Shane for keeping that idiot close by considering the amount of money he still owes Shane.

How well do you know SVB ?

I heard what he said about Barry on TAR and gave him the first bad mark in my book. Shane does a lot of good things for pool and spending time teaching kids. I'm hoping it's one of those "keep your enemies close" things. Johnnyt

It would be more than a little remarkable if Shane could win 4 in a row. Best of luck to Shane.

I get it when woman gets into bed with rundown rich billionaire sugardaddy.
But I don't get it when pro pool player gets into bed with rundown snake oil salesman sugardaddy with empty pockets

Just think if Shane saw or overheard something he didn't like while around Barry, like maybe all the money might not be there on time. One bad word from Shane a month before the open and a lot of players would stay home. Shane can train anywhere for the open...there is more to this IMO. Johnnyt

I like his chances unless the field gets a lot stronger by October.

Out of everyone that's entered so far, I think Darren and Alex have the best chance to beat him. If he lost to anyone else out of the current field, I would classify that as an upset.

At the last (or next to last) US Open Barry was talking about how he would give Shane the world if he became the house pro a Cue Masters.

Yes Maxx, I heard that too. All Shane did was smile. Johnnyt

PS: It might just be what was said in the press release. Shane is about 30 years old now. He should know who's who and what's what in the pool world by now.

Quote from the article: "An update on the prize fund progress shows over $45,000 already in place with, according to Mr. Behrman, the rest of the money well on its way. Pat Fleming of Accu-Stats is overseeing the receipt and retention of all prize monies this year."

Notice, there has been no dollar amount from any press release yet from Mr Fleming himself. That is the only source ANYBODY should be listening to. I don't know why even the author of this article (unnamed), even put down a number coming from Barry's mouth.

Why is this even allowed?
