After i watched Brandon at Grady's tourney, after almost 8 or 9 hours of play of one pocket got to final with another 5 hours match he remained focused, yes he got second but i really sensed his eagerness to win. I expect he will get to the finals in most games at the US Open, if Dennis and Appleton do not show. My thought.

After one hits thousands of balls every day, day after day, their proficiency tends to gain strength. In this regard, Brandon is strong.

You have to really want to be good to improve your game. One can acquire the mechanical skills, even go out and be a teacher of pool fundamentals if they want, but if they don't have that killer instinct and power of positive thinking, they will never get there, no matter how many thousands of balls they hit per day. That's a fact, Jack! :embarrassed2:

I remember the first time Brandon went to the Derby City Classic. Upon return, he couldn't get over the non-stop action pool mania. It was at this point in his life, I believe, that he decided he wanted to pursue pool. He was passionate about it before he left for Louisville, but when he came back, he was a changed man. :grin-square:

I wish him well and always hope he rises to the top. After all, we gotta root for the home team!

I have seen him a few times play in Annandale and fast eddies....this guy is no joke..I am cheering for him cause he from the area...

Well, we must add a photo to this thread of Brandon Shuff.

I've always been partial to natural blonds! :)

Brandon has always had a beautiful, reliable stroke. But, the competition at the US Open is tough tough tough. I will be rooting for him, unless of course he starts playing slow as owl sheet - then I will rooting against him, or anybody else who plays slow for that matter. Last year there was a match where he played Ralph Soquet, the slowest player on the planet, and Brandon played just as slow if not slower. Thank goodness I was watching online and could just turn off the show. Let's hope for the best this year.

He will win if he maintained the killer instinct he has at Grady's, beating Cliff, and Shannon Dalton at their best games, and long drawn out games. He is up to something. Go Homey!!

I've been following Brandon for 5 or 6 years now. I think what I like most about him is that he is a total student of the game, looking to learn something from everyone and every match, in which he plays. He does a good bit of studying various subjects (history, theology, philosophy - no really) to work on his mental game, too.

In addition, he is very gracious in everything he does, has excellent manners, dresses like a professional, and wants to put the best possible face on the game. Not many young folks take this game to heart, and stay true to the game's history. Brandon is a throwback, and has a long term goal to be among the best in the world. He's well on his way!

He's also a nice guy, too.

I'd love to see him rock the US Open 9 Ball Championships and represent the US in the Mosconi Cup in December.

Good luck Brandon!
