I f****ng loved Bonus Ball

If you don't get espn 3 but have an iPhone iPad or android phone of pad you can watch it free on the watch espn app. I'm going to give it yet another try if I don't pass out from shoveling snow all day lol

I watched it once and got hooked on it. It is really a good game. My problem is we live in the Philippines and can't get it the way you can in America. I have no idea how to remedy this. Any idea or suggestions?

I'd like to try this game out in my pool hall and if it was liked I would have small Bonus Ball tournaments.
I would use solid and stripe balls plus eight ball.

i checked out a match on espn3 last night for a few mins and that was all it took to see that shannon daulton didn't have a firm grasp of the rules and this is not a knock against him but the game itself, i had read about these nuances on here but it only took a few mins of watching to see it 1st hand, what a joke

I just heard them say they will have a special disaster relief benefit PPV with Dennis, Carlo, and Warren on Team Philippines vs Darren, John Morra, and Thorsten.

Do Dennis and Carlo play on a Bonus Ball team???

Freddie <~~~ Efren would be the best

Even more important...

Pitt cuts deficit in half. This is exciting!

This instance show cases just how important shot selection is in Bonus ball. Minn would have kept the advantage in that game if they would've done what Scott was suggesting. By NOT choosing to pocket the orange for 2 points and play a two rail on the bonus ball and putting it out of play for Pitt...

For those that think the players aren't serious about BB, take a look at the faces on Pittsburgh during Minnesota's last run. They look the same as you would expect them to if they're getting eliminated from the US Open, DCC, etc.

I do enjoy Frost's commentary.

That's right Cory.I honestly do believe that these guys love ths game and do hope to see it continue.I know I hope it goes on!!Go Scorpions!!

Heartbreaker for Pitts. Adam Smith carried the team from being down and buried to taking the lead, but dogged two in the end to let it slip away. Big escape by Minnesota. And honestly, pretty exciting.

Freddie <~~~ thought this was bobble ball

I only got to see the last two matches tonight, and it was disappointing for Pittsburgh. Sucks, because even though I know Souquet and Thorsten, and don't know the Pitt guys at all, I still instinctively found myself rooting for my "home team."

Is there a way to watch the replays on the espn app?

Not sure of the name of tonight's Bonus Ball girl, but she is by far the most skilled at spotting the black ball. I could watch her do it all day.

Just out of curiosity, anyone know why SVB isn't part of any Bonus Ball team? Would love to see him play.

I think he's the only American who expected to make more money from other pool activities than from BB. Shane is also tightly aligned with the late great TAR, which was not a fan of BB.

I hope there's a BB season 2 and that Shane plays in it. We've already got 2 new philpinos learning the game for the charity match--Maybe they're looking for a third guy who can play a little.

Just tried to watch the replay of the Minnesota / Pittsburgh match and nearly fell asleep.

I would rather watch top players shoot spot shots then watch this game again.

Team 8 ball with top players would have a decent chance to become popular but this game doesn't have a chance,

That's Judy...

She's one of the original bonus ball girls. I believe the only one left from the originals.

If you don't like the game, you can say you don't like the game. It's exhausting to hear self proclaimed experts who know the industry so well that they can determine when something is a certain failure despite others who enjoy it. I don't know if BB will succeed or fail but I'm not arrogant enough to make that presumption.

I will tell you what, if BB doesn't fail you can tell me I told you so! Actually you can't because you aren't arrogant enough to make a prediction.

Probably over half of the people who are involved in BB are my friends and I would love to see it succeed. I happen to have extensive knowledge in business and would of been willing to help BB develop a workable business plan at the onset. I also feel I have quite a bit of knowledge on billiards and what it takes to come up with something marketable.

The people making decisions at BB made one mistake after another but in the end I don't any of that mattered because the game that they are trying to market isn't marketable.

What you don't seem to understand is this is a forum to talk about anything pool related, I would be more than happy to read about someone who thinks that BB is going to succeed and their reasoning.

It is a shame because I think they got a lot of thing right, I love the team event, the arena, the shot clock, a referee on every match, etc...

In the end it is just my opinion and I can guarantee that my posts won't cause the destruction of BB or its success.

Good post, I agree with pretty much everything in it.

From the what I've seen of it, I quite enjoy Bonus Ball as a game, but I can't see it ever selling to non-fans of the sport. Keep the rest of the setup (in terms of arena, teams, etc.) and play 8-ball, and you have a chance. Playing this game, I don't think you do.

I hope I'm wrong, though.

You're right. I won't say I told you so because I'm not making any predictions. BB has made a lot of mistakes a long the way and I am aware of that. I don't question any knowledge you have in whatever area expertise you presume and I don't feel the need to spout off my qualifications either. If you believe that BB will fail because of the business decisions they made then fine, your post just seems to state that BB will fail because you found it boring to watch.

I understand very well that a forum is meant to discuss things. It's just annoying to continuously read comments such as, well I didn't like it so it's doomed to fail. You're free to state that and I won't censor you but I'm free to state that it's annoying to hear. You can say you don't like it but presuming your distaste in something unequivocally leads to its failure is presumptuous and arrogant. Your follow up post above seems to flesh out your ideas more and I tend to agree with you.
