And damn. That's way different. It is absolutely amazing. I had previously put a hard and a medium on other cues and it was just ok. Not bad, and worth the money, but nothing to jump up and down about. Granted too, neither was a low deflection shaft. My 314's original tip was getting close to gone so I figured I'd give a soft a try. I prefer it to the mooris and tiger snipers I've used before. I wish I would have tried a soft earlier :)

You should have tried one of the FourSkin tips from Steamer Cue Sports Ltd.
They come in Limp, Kinda Hard, and Damned Hard, and are guaranteed to sink more balls every time you go for the hole.
I will say, however, you got the best tip made today.

I had one of those and it kept puffing up , Like the cowboy boots I had they puffed up like suit cases when rubbed . Jim

UltraSkins are amazing tips. You simply can't go wrong with price and performance.

Ultraskin,,,,,,,,,,

I just bought a Jim Pierce Bowling Alley shaft with an Ultraskin on it,,,,,,,Unbelievable combo,,,,Arguably the best Shaft/Tip combo I've ever tried,,,,

Jimmy!!! :)

P.S. You've got to keep them trimmed.
P.S.S. Is it possible to get a pair of joint protectors with "Tramp Steamer" on them?

Ultras

I heard a lot of the stiffy's are raging about the feedback from the Ultra Skins. Simply amazing is what they say.

I've played in crappy bars my entire life, so I'm no expert on tips. I was always glad to grab a cue that didn't flop like a fish when rolled and had any kind of tip at all. When I decided to get serious a while back I broke down an bought a Players, which I got for a discounted price of $48. I wasn't about to try a $30 Kamui on the thing, but when folks started raving about the Ultras I bought a mixed pack of ten and put a soft on my cue.

Holy smokes! My CB control improved immediately. Less miscues, better CB action, and a nice feeling hit IMO (I was initially expecting it to feel "mushy", which it does not). I am now a believer that tip selection is an important variable in a cue's playability. Not to take away from all those fine makers producing wonderful playing instruments with "1-ton" hits, but for my money I am very happy with the way my cheapo cue plays with a great tip on it.

Good choice. I have been installing more of the Ultra Skin soft than any other.

Not that there is anything wrong with the Med and Hard. It just seems that the soft seems to lend itself well to the average players playing preference.

When someone asks for a Ultra skin, I suggest the Soft and mention that my tips are guaranteed. If you don't like it, I will replace the cost in another tip.

So far, I haven't had any takers. I have people coming up to me and asking for the same tip that so and so has. Its to the point now that the rest of my stock sits lonely in the tool chest. Other than the odd die hard Everest or Moori user, I have not much use for the vast stock that I have on hand.

Probably a good thing in the long run.

Altho, I have to put in a good word for Dawgs Duds, I keep those on hand and his are the ones that I use for my own playing cues.

Other than myself, I have a couple of customers that keep Duds on their spare shafts and like them just fine. Just like many other tips, a Dud will last a long time. If I put one on for a customer, I won't be seeing him for a coons age.
