I thought I heard my doorbell, I was ZZZ.
Most of the time I dont answere it but I knew there was a package I was expecting, I forgot last night to leave a note. My house is small but the bedroom is as far from the door as possible and its hard to get there fast sometimes.
There is was the dreaded yellow note, come get your package on 6/6:angry:
So I put on my glasses and went looking for the mail truck, no luck. Then I got to thinking what if it was lunch time and he might come back. So I waited 45 minutes and jumped in my car and drove around and way down the steet, I found the mailman, who was a cool girl. My hair looks like Efrens and my beard is almost like ZZ Top.
So I had to really lay down the pitch, I could tell at first she was not interested. Her truck was parked 300 yards from where she was at with the push cart. I had to get this girl in my car-no not for that, for the cues; why else??
. It wasn't my good looks or charm that got her in the car, she said "You give me a ride in that car?";"For you anything". Having a Bentley in LA really helps, I had no chance otherwise. LOL. I bought it a few months back when I thought I ws going to lose my credit, i financed the whole thing 1.9% interest. So its the banks car not mine, but she didnt know that.
Scott Gracio finished up the 360 Tribute Cues and for some reason sent me 2 of them, one is for me one for Dean who had the idea. Scott put way more time into these cues than usual as they are very difficult to build. Its amazing that he can build these this soon in his cue making days. Scott has amazed me since I met him. He is very gifted and talented, some guys couldn't build a cue like this ever. Paul Fanelli (RIP) was great at butterfly cues, its a very difficult thing to get everything even there are so many things that can go wrong.
Deanoc had the idea of this project a year ago and asked Scott if he thought he could do it. He said something like "Yup I believe I can do it". I was 100% confident in him and wanted to give him some biz, he is like everyone haveing a tough time. Scott made 5 of them I believe each with a different wood. I didnt know if it was going to take a year or 3 years, What ever it time he needed I was cool with, because of the difficulty of building them I didnt expect him to have them fast, i figured he would work on the easy stuff and sell cues most of the time and when he was in the mood work on the challenging cues when he was in the mood. Thats how Jerry at SW did with the fancy cues years ago. They were a side project from the normal business. Other cue makers do this as well. Ernie at Ginacue builds batches of cues and builds the monsters on the side, when the paint is drying on his batches of cues. So there is no way to determine how long it takes a cue maker to build the "Special" cues.
More people that order cues need to understand this, they often order a cue and expect the cue maker to have it finished by a certain date. Cue makers often miss the promised dates, and then customers get mad. The promised date in the cue world is fuzzy date meaning its a estimate. the exception to this is if you paid 100% of the $$ for the cue, but real cue makers might want a deposit for materials and that's it IMO.
Scott is the real deal, The 2 cues here are beatiful and I will get pics of them today for this thread. I recommend to anyone Scott for building a custom cue. I have for a long time, his cues play great. And he is a stand up guy. You will get alot of cue for the $$$ and he can build a cue to the specs you want. This project proved that, Dean asked for a lot and Scott delivered.
thanks to Scott for building amazing cues and to dean for the idea to build 360 tribute cues. I have a pet peeve when tribute cues are not marked by who built them, in 10 years a person can think he is buying a orgional cue and it isnt. Tribute cues that are counterfeits piss me off, Scott signed these cues. Thats a stand up man right there. I didnt ask him to sign them, he didnt disappoint me, he never has. And my best to Wendy his wife, she is a great woman, I hope she is feeling better,
