It seems that when it rains it pours...Bustamante is in the U.S. for the 1Pocket and 10 Ball Opens going on now and told me he wants to play the winner of TAR 26 Archer/SVB but it would have to be the following weekend which is June 1-3.

That would be a whole lot of PPV's in a row and I'm very concerned people wouldn't or couldn't pay for that much pool in a short time. Between now and then we have the US Open 10 Ball event and TAR 26.

I may be able to get Busty back to Vegas in July around the Tunica event but its not guaranteed. So I am in a quandary. Do you do the match and take a big risk of losing money because people are burned out on PPV or let the opportunity go and try to do it at some point in the future but with no guarantee when ?

This whole model is possible because of the people who buy and support our matches and I really do not want to burn anyone out. I am torn on this one and would like to hear peoples opinons on the situation.

What would you do?

postpone the archer, svb match, let Shane play busti and the winner gets to play archer for the tar title and a bonus $500? lol

Create a package deal. Something like 30% off for both.

It's a rough call.... I'd pay for Buste VS SVB in a heartbeat.... May or may not pay for SVB vs Archer or Buste VS Archer.....

SVB vs Buste would be my plans for the weekend... Watching the other 2 options involving Archer would revolve around what plans I had available...... I guess if it rains you would have me =)

You also have to factor in going to the well 2 weeks in a row... I don't know your audience demographics so I couldn't say how many would be able/willing to shell out cash 2 weekends in a row....

I'd like to think back to back wouldn't hurt you but neither of us has a crystal ball......

I'd prepay today for SVB vs Buste but I might want a refund if Archer wins TAR 26....... And IF you schedule Buste vs Shane instead of the winner of 26 will some people skip 26 to buy 27???

Think this is a catch 22 just not sure the extent of it.......

I think as a biz man perspective, you have a warmed up market who is watching pool, their noses are open so you'll do even better than you would if it was a one-off match where peoples mind isnt on pool.

speaking for myself, i'm a all or nothing kind of guy, and when i'm in pool mode, its pool 24/7 in one form or another. I'm playing or watching or talking to players, betting something pool always. When i'm not around pool, i have zero interest in it.

I'd go for it, everyones nose will be open and you should get more buys than ever!!! I hope you do, i'd even bet you do.

Justin> spread them out if possible. If you feel it might be too much then trust your gut. Everything in moderation, even pool.

As far as a package deal I was thinking it MIGHT be possible to do something like $60 for both instead of $35 each but I would have to crunch the numbers more to see if that could work. Cut anymore than that and I dont see us having a shot to get even.

Thanks for the feedback. Love to hear more opinions and suggestions.

I would take the risk and postpone Busti vs winner of SVB/Archer until the Tunica event. It's just too close. I also feel that it would be unfair to have Busti play SVB again since he beat SVB in the same format already. Busti earned the "King of the Hill" title and should be treated as such(It hurt to type that. I'm an SVB fan).

I will pay for the events anyway because I'm a pool addict. My wife does question me about the money I spend to watch streaming events. You will have a lower turnout if you run the events to close together.

If Archer is involved, there needs to be a 30 second shot clock. If not, his matches can become very boring.

On a side note, I'd like to see Corey Deuel match up with Rodney Morris

or

it would be great to see SVB play Orcullo

Its interesting. I posed the same question on my Facebook page and 30+ responses were all positive and to go for it. I really want to do it for the simple fact my gut says anytime you can get Bustamante involved in something you should jump on it I just dont want our supporters to feel like we are beating them up with a lot of events in a short time frame.

Normally I would just go with my gut and roll the dice but on this I really dont know. I'm leaning towards the "Damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead" methodology though.

Its been awhile since I watched one but are you talking about 2 weekends back to back. How much money are you talking about to watch one or both events? I know when college world series is played I am locked in and love the tournament drama. I would love to pay for a Busta vs Shane or Archer vs either. The drama of a small tournament with races long enough to decide who is the best is great for me. I think the person is on to something about a package deal. What kinda of viewing cost you are talking about would help in answering. If busta and shane play I will pay.

10bucks is already 14percent, 20 shouldn't be too bad, I think. Plus you might get buys from people who don't want to see an Archer - Bustie pairing. Just a thought.

The other thing I can think of is to offer bonus match. Maybe the loser of svb and archer against Bustie for smaller payout then you offer the two events in full price.

I was thinking some sort of package deal with the next three weeks, including the US Open 10 ball. Maybe something like $75-80 for all three weeks, I don't know if that would be enough for you to cover expenses. I thought that might be a way to get people involved because it would be 3 weekends of 10 ball.

Personally, I am wrestling with purchasing some of the coverage for this week and next week. Even without Busty playing in June, there is currently 4 straight weekends of PPV coverage. That's $140 to watch everything. Adding TAR 27 would be $175.

I'm sure there are people who can't cover that much. I really can't cover that much currently being out of work until the end of May. I am for sure getting the Shane/Archer match and am currently on the fence about the US Open coverage. If you add Busty's match, I would buy it also but it would take me out of any of the US Open stuff for sure.

If I had got back to work a few weeks earlier I would probably get it all. Just one man's situation. Hope you can work it out. I love TAR and will try to support as much as possible.

Perhaps allow purchasers the ability to watch the matches for up to two weeks or even a month after they aired. I personally would like to purchase the PPV for Archer/Van Boening but have a prior comittment that will preclude watching it at any time during the live broadcast.

Were there a way to get these matches at times convenient to me then I would gladly purchase them. Streaming prices however, not DVD prices :-)

Thank you for bringing these high quality events.
