Amazon.com has published, Gar, The Iron Man, a short story that I wrote. The piece is available for perusing on their website. It's a new feature that gives writers more exposure. A forum member referred me to this opportunity, but I have regrettably forgotten who he was. I hope he will forgive my poor memory, and remind me who he was so I can thank him.

I bought a copy. I'll read it during lunch and give you a review. Good work.

So - can anyone write a short story and put it on Amazon? That is pretty cool.

Great read Freddy. My review should pop up in a few days. It takes Amazon 48 hours to put it up. Johnnyt

Congrats on your short story on Amazon.com going to to top in sports in its first few days on. It blew by mine like it was standing still. Johnnyt

Alaska

john,

Where and when did you live in Alaska. i am from there and lived there until 2004. Maybe we know some people in common.

I was around the pool scene quite a bit.

I was in Alaska from 1963 to 1965. Ft.Wainright and Ft Greely. I went back up for over a year just to hustle pool in the 30 or so bars in Fairbanks in 1966 and lived outside of Fairbanks. I loved it up there and should have never left but a girl was calling me from the lower 48. Of course when I got home she had already been in a few other beds. Johnnyt

Alaska

johnny,

It seems we wer both in the same city at the same time. i was going to the U of A in Fairbanks the winter of 1964. That was the one that went 50 below for a week. i froze my ears!!!

I also repaired the pool tables at the student Union building. later on, I would go to Fairbanks and fix pool table - private, business, military and later the pipeline.

Lets see - the Polaris had a lot of adction for one small table. There were all kinds of places on 2nd.

Oh well, great people, but too friggin' cold. The summers are awesome - I've seen it in the mid 90'.
