i love my new ob1

Great job John

:D John, Congratulations on your new deal with OB-1, I sincerely hope it works out for you both. Good Luck,

I'll be trying an OB-1 pretty soon. Hope it fits my Mezz and/or Viattorre. If I like it, I'll be buying another 1 for my other cues with a 3/8x10 joint pin.

Good luck John and hope to see you in Manila for WPC '07.

OB1 is the future. I've had mine for a few months now and will never go back to solid...

Engineered shafts are, without a doubt, far superior than anything else out there. Playing with anything else (no matter how good you are with it) is a handicap...

OB1 is at the top when it comes to shafts.

I have never cared with what I have been playing with, it could be the original shaft on my Prather Cue, a 314, 314-2, Z, Z-2, or a cue I borrowed from someone else, or a housecue. I didn't care, and couldn't feel that much difference...

Till I changed to OB-1 a month ago. It's just perfect.

(I still doesn't care what weight on the cue or what tip I play with, so guess I am still waiting to find the perfect thing for me there) :D

what the.. Z2 vs house stick? don't care about tip? and you do play pool and you did not just let your fingers run wild on that keyboard?

that leaves me speechless.

Using one now on my Mezz and Schon, great hit and feel, also have one for a custom 3-8x10 McDermitt and no complaints, I think you will be pleased with your new shaft.

cheers

Hehe, it's true. I have played many tournaments with borrowed cues, and the last tournament I won I actually played with a housestick. I have never cared what I do play with, and I can't feel big difference on tip or weight on the cue... I have a Prather 1997 Custom cue with OB-1 and a Predator 5K8 with 314-2, and I have no idea what weight they are or what tip there is on those shafts, and I don't care...

But I will order an OB-1 to my Predator too, that's for sure

i love my ob-1 too! changed its original tip from talisman to sniper though :D

Glad to hear that John landed a sponsorship. Can anyone post a link to the OB1 home site?

congrats

I saw Mr. Schmidt at Valley Forge last March. He was on the sponser hunt at the time and when he was kind enough to stop and sign and autograph for me I commented that I hoped his sponser search would be prosperous. Glad to see he and OB1 found each other. A great new product (love mine) and one of the classiest & talented players around. Sounds like a good team

ob-1, saberT, and sniper tip

I am so incredibly happy with my OB1 now that I had Varney replace the original funky ferrule with a saberT ferrule, and put a sniper tip on it. My opinion is that this is a pretty sweet setup.

My only complaint is there there are a few very small glue line voids on the shaft that have been there since I got it. I have heard that this does happen, and that RBC will replace your shaft if you have it. I had already changed the ferrule and tip before I heard that they would replace it for me, so no luck there.

Man I might try that, how did it change the hit of the cue?? How much it cost?

Eric.

Hunter cue?

well ive been wanting to tell you guys about my new deal with ob1 cues.at first i admit i was scared to play with something that deflected differently than my hunter cue.well after three days im doing things with this cue that frankly i cannot believe.they deflect just like predetors but with much more power and a softer more solid hit. also i can avoid collisions that were impossible to avoid before due to the spin of my old cue, im sick that i waited this long to try this shaft i was just stubborn and figured they could not help my game.also they are an american company, they make a superior product and they sell it for a great price.go to the ob1 website if you would like to learn about them and just tell them i sent you if you call ob1.get one you will not be sorry i assure you of that.
John,

I have the DVD's from last years US Open of your matches and I can't believe that you switched to something other than your Bobby Hunter cue. You moved the cue ball with ease with the Hunter cue and your draw shots were superior and they appeared effortless with that cue. If your OB-1 plays better than your Hunter cue did then I think you have a great shot to repeat as the winner of this years US Open.

I play with predator shafts and i'd love to try an OB-1 shaft one day to see if it plays better than my predator shafts do.

Good luck in the US Open.

i heard so much about the black dot bullseye shaft from meucci, I was curious if "OB-1 vs Black dot shaft" anyone experienced this?

Not even close. IMO the Black Dot can't touch Predators. I have a Z2 right now but after hitting some shots with Snorks new OB1 I know I need to put that shaft in my bag. Awesome.

I have a Z-2 and 314-2 and they are good shafts, but I keep coming back to the OB-1 and it tends to stay on my stick 95%+ of the time now. The only problem I have had with my OB-1s is that I have a 12.4 Radial and a 12.75 Radial OB-1s, the 12.4 goes on easily and I really have to work to put on the 12.75 as it is EXTREMELY tight. However they both play great.
