I moved to Pool Heaven

Voodoo Daddy

One Pocket 101
I left HELL <Miami, Fl.> and moved to S/E Michigan last month...anyway I gotta say this one of the BEST pool spots in the nation. Hall of Fame Billiards is a hotbed for road dogs and champions and without knocking who or what for I'll just mention the folks I saw there tonight...Weissman, Chohan, Richie Rich and Ferrell. I did see Ashcroft last week and there is some serious local talent as well. What a great place....

Voodoo~~~needs to find his game in one of the boxes I packed, soon.

I'm happy that you found your move satisfying. I have often wondered about moving away from D.C., having lived here my entire life. That's a tough call, but one which I may make someday soon. I want to retire, and it seems today that I work, work, work to support the house, never getting ahead. Taxes are brutal here.

When you say "Ferrell," do you mean Sparky! Also, Ronnie's name is spelled like wise-man, "Wiseman," but I knew who you meant! :p

So you found a pool utopia, you lucky duck! That's great! :)

I wouldn't think Miami would be a crap place for pool, but what do I know  I would love to move to Pool Hot Spot, I'm so tired of these rinky dink bars and "poolhalls". Best hall I've been to is Shooters Billiards up in Burnsville, MN...that place is amazing! I go there every time I visit my parents. Congrats VooDoo, hopefully someday I'll walk through those pearly pool gates :D

I tried to look for you last Thurs nite, hope to see you tomorrow night, table 24, come up and say hi. Did not know Sparky was in town, any match ups planned, guess CB went back to Ohio. I went to Jerry Howard's memorial last night, he was quit a guy, big time gambler, bet $1000's when gas was a quarter.

Sounds like you have the majority of the players over there :( All we have here is Kirkwood with no serious action for him.

I'll be waiting to from you when January rolls around to hear how well you still like your new found "hot' spot. :D

:D DOES IT SNOW INSIDE THE POOL ROOMS HERE? <LAUGHING>

It may be 'pool heaven' now but wait until it's minus 2 degrees with the wind chill factor of minus 20...

All the balls will be COLD.

When you starting a One Pocket tour?

I love MI winters

And even if you don't it helps to keep telling yourself that you do.

I'm not sure about that side of the state but over here there are times when I think it will at any minute. <NOT LAUGHING> Well I guess I was a little even though it's not funny.

Not to worry Detroit only averages about 3 1/2 feet while GR is about 6 feet and 20 miles west gets about 8 feet.

Tom, as you know I am "well insulated"...HAHAHAHAHA. As far as the One Pocket Tour goes...I'm not sure, still getting to know the area and trying to make some contacts/friends.

What city is Hall of Fame Billiards located in? Is that the pool hall that was opened by the fellow who won a large lottery jack pot a few years ago? I remember reading about a very nice pool room that was opened by a man who won quite a bit of money in the lottery in that part of the country, but I can't remember the name of the room or the city.

Tell us again how great it is up there in February when your snot freezes to your face while you walk from your car to the room. :p

Seriously, the pool scene in Miami is pretty bad. I can't remember the last time I saw road dogs going through Sharpshooters and getting played. They always just go to Hollywood.

Congrats on moving to a town with a real pool scene.

Glad to hear your happy with your move Voodoo, the change in climate might not be so great but what's it matter when your on the green felt most of the time anyway;)

On Saturday nights you should head over to Rack Attack in Port Clinton Ohio. They hold a really good tournament starting at 8:00 pm. Not sure how many players show up during the summer. But come fall and winter the tournament is real strong. Depending on where your at in Michigan it's less than an hour drive.

What are you guys talking about? South Florida is pool heaven. You should see the games going on right now. Stevie and Frankie are playing a set for 10 big ones!! Johhny is playing Corey a big set! Tons of action!! YOU DOGGED IT VOODOO.. YOU GAVE ALL THIS UP!!

Welcome Voodoo,

I live in Troy about 10 miles from HOF. Never been in HOF. I play mostly @ Snookers in Royal Oak.

Hall of Fame is in Warren MI, 13mile and Mound, and yes it was owned by the guy that won the $60 million in the lotto, however he just sold it a few months ago.
