I Need info for possible Vegas trip

Ok If I were to be able to make it to Vegas on the 13th. How do I make it as inexpensive as possible.

I can get airfare and hotel for $446 with it being about 3 miles from the Riviera. I can get 1 mile from it for about $80-$100 more. I would be there 5 days. Are there buses going or is it all cabs? If there are no buses, I could walk the mile each day so that might make it worthwhile to pay extra to be closer?

I can eat bologna sandwiches for my meals to save $

Do you have to pay to watch the matches at the Riviera? Is there a place close to play a game? What kind of prices? Drink prices?

I will also want to get to pool sharks to for the Lady's match. How much cab fair am I looking at? What kind of prices to play there? Drink prices? (alcohol not needed)

Its cheaper for me to stay until Tuesday than fly home on Sunday.

I have never been to Vegas and might not make it this time. I am trying to figure out the bare minimum I will need. I will have to sell a few things to do this.

Logically I should wait until next year. Either way how cheaply can I get by?

If you're on the strip or close to it, the Deuce (double decker bus) that runs the strip costs $7 for a 24 hr pass.
Heinekins or other beer is usually $1.50, depending on where you look.
Kadies, or Katies (can't remember), a cafe in the Riv is very cheap to eat.
Large portions and pretty decent grub.
After the matches are over for the evening at the Riv, the tables are open and you can play till the wee hours of the morning for nothing.
It doesn't have to cost you an arm and a leg to have fun in Vegas. No admission charge to get into the playing area.
The Cue Club is fairly close to the Riv.
 
Rent a car. Park in the Riv parking structure and sleep in the car. The temp is fairly cool in the evening. Go to a gym to take a shower if needed. Dirve off the strip to eat, you will be able to find a lot of places for cheap food. Ellis Island has a steak and eggs special for $4.99 that is not on the menu. Just ask for it.
 
Sunday flights

Flying out of Las Vegas on Sunday is the most expensive day, vacationing and business people are both trying to get home for work on Monday. You should be able to save airfare money by flying monday or tuesday. The Circus circus right across the street has rooms around 30-35. Good luck

In all honesty, I would say Vegas is the last place on earth I would want to be with no money. Like a donkey following that carrot on a string. Just gonna drive you nuts, it would me.

You should really just save some money for next year. I think you would be happier that way.

If death and taxes are sure things, so is paying for EVERY game during the BCAPL events. Before and after the tournament. 24 hours a day for eleven days:eek:. Perhaps your confusing the BCAPL with one of the other sanctioning bodies that asks players for a flat fee and then allows them to play as much as they want after the tournament play is done.

Circus Circus and the Riv will be cheap enough and close to the event. I would stay at the Riv.

Ask someone (a taxi cab driver would know)... and find a grocery store and stock up on cheap non perishables.

free tables

There are no free play tables with the BCA. The few mini tournaments that are offered are pay by the game and the tiny pot for each one is cut by those in charge. Practice tables are not open for free play. You will pay for your games.

If you don't have the money to go to Vegas, you have no business going.

You should participate in a league that actually pays for everything instead of one that anyone can pay an entry fee ahead of time and just show up for a so called national championship. the money is weak as well with prize money being based on entry fees. lol
 
My mistake. I didn't see the date he posted. VNEA doesn't mind if you use the tables after hours.
 
Thanks everyone but it will have to be next year for me. I made a deal with a man and today he told me my half of the deal starts this week. He is moving from TN to SC and I will be doing the lifting and packing on this end. I guess thats what happens when you make an open ended deal and then try to make plans to go to something lol

And just what league are you referring to that allows ALL its players to go to the National Championships and play for free? From your post, its obvious you don't like the BCAPL, ACS, TAP or VNEA. Guess that leaves the APA. They are mentioned often on this forum for treating their players fairly:p.

If you earned your "free" trip to Vegas by winning a league or regional tournament event, you are only one of hundreds of players around the country who did so. How about the tens of thousands of players who didn't win? Should they not have a chance to play at the Nationals? Because they didn't win a free trip? Well thats fair! I'd sure want to play in that league.

Regarding the payouts, if you want to quit your full time job and win enough money to retire for life, which pool event can you go to that pays that kind of money? I'm ready to play today. The prize money at the BCAPL's is short at the top. They do however pay deep into the field. Keeps players like me coming back. Remember, none of the pool sanctioning bodies are running their leagues or tournaments for the fun of it. They are in it for the money as well. They are "for profit" companies. All of them!

U may not be want to spend for the services of the' ladies of the evening' that come and sit next to you in the bar/cocktail lounge.they charge 300 $.If u go into the street you may find a ' Methwhore' who will choke your chicken for 10-20 $.:thumbup:

You obviously don't know of what you speak on either league. The bca doesn't pay much period and no I am not looking for a big payday. I have actually played the last three years in your beloved event for your information.
No one said that all leagues weren't in it for the money. Business is business. Some do it a lot better than others and that makes those that can't jealous.

concerning your statement that shouldn't everyone have a chance to go to the so called nationals. No, it should be earned.

If you decide you want to play in the US Open Golf Championships you can't pay your way in and play. You must qualify. What a weird idea to actually have to earn you way in.

If paying your own way to the event and entry and not winning much of anything when you get there are what "keeps you coming back" then go get em.

The BCA is a for profit organization too pal.
 
If you do decide to drink on the strip and are balling on a budget. Casino Royale sells $1 dollar Michelob bottles. Just fyi for anyone. As far as transportation, I doubt your going to be able to coordinate the bus and your time there, it's pretty inconsistent.
