It is understandable. We certainly don't want someone taking advantage of one of our proud service members.

SSG Geer....thank you for your service. Your selfless sacrifice in defense of our country is greatly appreciated. As jmonche said, look to AER for help, too. I see that you are there in San Antonio. Don't forget the assets available to you with the Wounded Warrior program there at Ft Sam...I am sure you have already been a part of it, but sometimes, when faced with current events, we forget.

Everything may be overwhelming right now, with the family issues on top of everything else that you have been through, but there will be better days ahead.

I don't even know how to respond to all this and the statement it makes about all of us as a whole. This medium brings out the best and the worse instantly without a moment to re-consider.

Sir, as you can see from the many responses, the very large majority are good people on here. Try to ignore uninformed small minds and be assured that your service was and is appreciated. Some folks just can't resist using the keyboard in a rude way. Welcome to AZ.
 
People are assholes.

Before you post on here there are reasons to why he posted what he did. The man needs help and has a cue on here for sale. Pre war hero has offered up some cash so this man can keep his cue and still handle his business. This man is a hero to our country. I am a war veteran myself and it pisses me off for people to make derogatory comments about this mans posting. So I say that if you don't have something nice to say about something or someone be nice and don't say anything because you don't know the struggles people go through. So as prewar hero stated. I am also in for a cnote so this man can keep his cue
 
i helped before, and i did AGAIN... and i love doing it as much i can.....

i bought the cue to help him...and i will help HIM as much i can ... i met him in person and what a great person...
i am proud that i can call him FRIEND...

Because this world is chalk full of crazies. Not long ago there was a board member here who didn't like one of my posts. Took things way too seriously and a bit out of context then threatened to report my business and myself to the IRS or anyone who would listen. You know, everyone's a bada$$ behind a computer screen.

Not that it would have ever materialized into anything (I run a clean business) but sometimes just barking loud enough can cause a world of trouble for people.

Please open the thread linked on page one, maybe 7 or so down. Nick Serdula and otgers stepped up big time for this man and sent him a cue to reolace the one he sold. For all the crap I see directed towards Nick, his actions speak volumes of his character.

There are alot of brave people who openly disrespect others here. Shame on the person who questions this mans motives for posting his story. You cant understand where he has been or how the horrors of war can change him. As a prior VA medical professional I can tell you it is profound.So sit there in the comforts of your home and try to understand how we have come to have all we do in this country. It was all from the sacrifices of men like the one you disrespected.

I say we should collect $500 and let this hero keep his cue. If we can do it, I will personally pay Richard Harris to refinish this cue to new condition. Maybe let him use Nicks Rick Howard cue as a loaner until he gets it back from Richard.

Thanks to you the Cue is no longer a loaner. When I called he was almost appolagetic and thankful for whatever God might bring him from day to day.

With all the people talking about donating, who's going to do the collecting and be able to get it to him ? If somebody can do a paypal, post the paypal address so people can donate. I'm in, as soon as I know who and how.

OP has paypal setup, I have his PP email.
I am thinking if people want to donate, just send him the money to his PP. No need to advertise or make it known publicly. Just send the money, as much as you can.
