I paid but no video

Correct...

I didn't get the feed as I am going to the DCC but I just got off the phone with a friend of mine. He actually spoke to somone in the past hour at BCN since they are located right here, in St Louis. They are having technical difficulties and should have them corrected soon.

Yes, Louisville is in the eastern time zone. Kentucky/Indiana part of the country gets confusing with time zones. I believe it is Terra Haute Indiana that is in the Central Time zone but the rest of the state is eastern, or something like that. I think there is a street somewhere that on one side it is eastern time zone and across the street is central. Don, being from Indiana, is probably more familiar with this.

coverage

i shave no feed at this time. it just says connecting and the website say tech difficulties. anyone else??

They are still down and I am fast losing hope that they will get it to work before the 9 pm banks finals. Hope they get it done before 12 midnight though in time for the 10ball ring game between Archer, Deuel, Parica, Bustamante and Orcollo.

Indiana = same time as Eastern.

At least for most of Indiana which would cover where Willie is from.

they just sent out a letter saying that the earliest time the problem will be solved will TOMORROW morning. They said they will broadcast all that we missed and will be streaming live video 24 hours a day until the end of the tournament.

Out for the count

I don't think the feed will be back up today. Here's what it says on the website:

What is the issue? The mother board on our broadcast computer needed replacement. We accomplished this by late this afternoon. However, we are now having difficulity accessing the server with the new system, and the repair service we used is now closed for the day.

What are we doing now, to fix the system? We are now purchasing a new system and it's necessary components in order to get the live broadcast back on track ASAP. Unfortunately, this may take until Tuesday morning.

Windows Midia Player opens, then i get a message, "windows midia player cannoct to server". Does anyone get this problem or its fix. Has anyone successfully goten live play?

If you can view the live Africa feed, you will be OK to see DCC. That message comes up when a live feed is not availble at that time. As soon as they fix their motherboard and server issues, you will shouldn't get that message except when it is off on their end. Hang in there, it was well worth it last year for sure.

Here is the link to the Live Africa post on the forum.

I agree. I paid 30 balloons and did not see a minute of action.

What a move this is!!!!!

Sorry about restating what everyone else wrote. I just switched my preferences today (to oldest posts first) and thought that was the newset post. DOH!

Larry, how much RAM do you have on your computer? I know that my previous computer, the Compaq that we both thought we so GREAT, did not have enough RAM to make some videos run properly. I would always get the old dreaded "buffering, buffering, buffering" crap.

My new computer, a Dell, has 1-something of RAM, and it sure does work a lot better on the videos. I don't get the buffering the way I used to.

My older computer, it would run the videos, but then the videos would freeze for a couple seconds, then pop on again. It was very frustrating.

However, knowing that you know more about computers than I do, you may have another problem that I am not aware of. I am not sure which Windows Media Player I am running, but it is the latest one.

Hope this helps. :)

I'm having the same exact problem as Larry???

Jenny, I have a brand new DELL INSPIRON 1501???

you should know by now that the problem is not your computers, right? They have admitted that the problem is on their end and that they will not be able to broadcast at all tonight. Earliest will be tomorrow morning but after it is back up, they are planning to broadcast 24 hours per day until the end of the tournament on Saturday.

All the belly aching over the issues is getting old. They don't want us unhappy and we want live pool. What I don't want to see happen is them getting so sick of all the whining and decide to stop the live feeds altogther, forever, and just sell DVD's. So, think about that before you post another "what a rip off" message.

I think it is a bummer that it is down for a day, but I am happy about the other days so far and the ones to come.

I have also been having issues with the server, and was coming up with a DNS error message, the solution is to install MOZILLA FIREFOX

:)

I've requested a refund. I was only intested in watching the events that occured before I arrived. Well I'll be there tomorrow (today) and have missed most all of the TV action because of technical difficulties. Saw a few clips of the ring game last night is about all.

They tried, and thanks for trying, but it didn't work. Lets see how they treat us and that will decide if I pay for another one of their productions.

I'm digging my new Dell, Frankie! I got an XPS-410. I altered it a bit, adding a better sound card for my work-related activities, got a 3.5-inch floppy, and definitely 1-something of RAM. It is so quiet. My old Compaq was gerbil-driven. When I had more than two applications opened up, it sounded like the machine was going to explode!

As others have stated on this thread, it does seem that BCn is having technical issues, which stem from the facilities available to them; the Executive West Hotel's server I think. However, I give BCn a thumbs-up for making the videos available. For that, we should all be very appreciative. Hopefully, the problems will be worked out soon.

I'm thinking about getting me a new Dell laptop. The prices are very good this time of year.

So the feed was back last night for some time? Have they posted up some matches from last night that we can watch today?
