I played my first perfect set of 9 ball yesterday in a tournament at Kolbys yesterday. We are playing races to 5 and there were 21 players in the field.I played a friend of mine Tom who plays pretty well and we usually have good battles.I did not miss one ball in the race to 5 and ended up winning 5-0,that might not sounds like much to some but to me its alot considering 9 ball is not my favorite game and its a game that I dont play too well I feel.I ended up going on to win the tournament having only one hill-hill match, otherwise I dominated the field which felt good.Well I am patting myself on the back right now and eating left over Outback for breakfast,woo-hoo isnt life great!

Hope you hit all your goals this year!!!!

I've found that those 'highs' are something you can hang on to and build up your confidence in the future. You now know what you can achieve, and the better you get the more fun it is!!

Personally, there are things that I almost hate to do..... and usually it is because I have a significant weakness either in my skills or my personality.
Being the masochist that I am (and the need to grind:wink: ) I force myself to do those things that I'm bad at if I know that they will help me to enjoy other aspects on a higher plane. There will always be exceptions.... I won't ever ski the bumps again, or play net in tennis....and the jury is still out in 1P :) ........ although your live streams may just inspire me yet....

I hope you start to see how sweet the rotation games are now that you have hit your next level. Set your goals high..... and there's no reason you can't hit 10 speed in 2009!!!!!!!

Happy New year!!

you should go on the road with the name Lenny Briscoe??? :D

Did your opponent sell out to you every leave they left or what? Or did you break and run all 5 games?
He broke dry the first rack and I ran out, then I ran out the next rack, the other racks involved safety battles, the final rack he ran the balls to the 8 or 9 and missed and I had an easy out.The biggest thing to me was I did not miss a ball,my safeties were very good,I played them all well even though he did kick safe me back at times.

just wondering what is a 9 or 10.I thought 7 was the highest.thanks,is it like A or B.
A 7 is the highest in the APA,I dont play league but in Arizona all players are rated from a 4 to a 10-2,only 2 players Scott Frost and Mitch Ellerman are 10-2s.I am an 8 which is around average in AZ and corresponds to a B player,a 9 is a strong B player and when you are a 10 your an A player.

Congrats! I still get excited when I play a perfect rack in 9-ball, let alone a perfect set. That's really something to be proud of!

That was some nice shooting, Lenny.

You've been taking lessons from San Jose Dick on how to knock your own action haven't you?

JoeyA (doesn't think Lenny is going to make it as a road player)

If he does, he will most likely end up in Sturgis. They have the most unique restaurant there called The Road Kill Cafe --- ever hear of it?

I've heard the name but never been there. We have a local "quasi-Cajun" blue plate type restaurant where they have an unusual menu and it involves all of the road kill, from opossum, nutria and the blue plate special of the day, simply alligator. I'll have to take a picture of the menu and show it here. While I am at it I'll show pictures of the uniqueness of Louisiana pocket billiards and Buffalo Billiards of New Orleans/Metairie.

good for you man! that's awsome. playing like that is what we all strive for. keep up the good play.

JoeyA: Please do -- I wish I could find the menu I got from the Road Kill Cafe .......... errr.

Lenny: We tease man ..... seriously though, that was quite an accomplishment. Such an accomplishment that I went out in the snow and bought you this trophy for you (with the VCash, thank's to Steve not keeping an "eye" on that Potato).

-- I spared no expense and, yes, it was up hill both ways without shoes.

What a year 2008 has been huh? You get your first perfect set of 9-ball and my grandchild learns to count -- all in the same year. "Someone" photo-shopped it for all the viewing audience.
