I know this isn't much of an accomplisment, but to me it is. I have ran out in 8-Ball many times, but 9 ball has always been elusive. Finally today, I did it. :D

Hopefully it's not my last :p

Wow, you can beat the ghost 5-0???!!! How long did it take you from running your first rack, to beating that ghost?

I only beat him 5-0 once,i dont beat the ghost everytime either in a race to 5,i would say a year after i ran my first rack i beat the ghost. My game went up fast and i hadnt been playing long either, now im at a point where i see my game not going up as quickly as it initially did which is discouraging but im still improving so thats good.

One year is very impressive. I probably will need a few years at least or ever. :p

Congratulations!
Did you do that with a house cue? Good job. I suspect that may of had something to do with your cue ball control & shot making. Next goal 2, then 3 then six packs. I hope when you win you get the breaks.

Thansk. Yea, I did it with a house cue. I'll be getting my first cue soon. I'm narrowing down my choices. I still can't decide between steel joint or wood to wood, or 13mm or 12.5. I'm gonna go around to many stores to check out their selections and hold them to see if they feel right in my hands.

Six packs? I wish :D

13mm wood to wood IMO,but it depends on your preference,i love big pin cues but right now im playing with a SS jointed cue thats more traditional and am playing pretty well with it.

Congrats on your first 9 ball! I had my first in 8 about a month ago, not in 9 ball yet. Ran out three times agaisnt the ghost though. How long have you been playing?

Let me see your mechanics! hehe nice job its a great feeling, fuel to the FIRE!!! I love my Predator shafts! Look into thier sneaky petes they are good cues...............

Eric.

Congrats to you, That is a big step...

I agree with Eric about the Predator sneaky..... they are point and click

GJ man. That's a big leap into the fun of pool.. knowing you can run out because you've did it before :D

Yes, it is an accomplishment. Good job. Some people talk about runouts like they eat them for breakfast; it's not that easy for us common folk.

Running a few balls is fun, running a lot of balls is a lot of fun, and running an entire rack is as much fun as you can have!

Congrats. :)

Congrats

on the run.... A milestone, now you have to raise the bar a little .... LOL

IMO, a 12.5 is too small for a newbie, since you need to work on stroke and consistency, a 13mm would be better, but you could compromise to a 12.75mm, that would be okay, and it is the size I play with.

Something I did was to buy a cheap pair of 6" calipers, and carry them in my case. They have come in handy in tip discussions with friends, I whip them out and we verify everyone's tip size. Also good when you buy, sell, or trade cues anywhere. I think I paid $6 plus shipping for them.

I have always preferred SS joints myself.

Congrats...I remember the early days when I would play on the "all day rate" from 10am to 6pm and never run a single rack. I was addicted to pool back then and I'd hate to see 6pm come around because it signalled the end of "all day" & I hadn't achieved my goal yet...but it was a triple-shimmed GC III.

Congrats! That is awesome. I'm sure it won't be the last. The first time is the hardest, for just about anything. :D

Sweet! The combination of your new excitement from your success and a new cue will really make a jump in your game...
