I remember when

My problem with this forum is that you have to have an expensive block of electronic aluminum to read it, and the damn block constantly needs to be recharged. Who can be bothered with all that? I mean, where is a newspaper on the front step every morning with all the latest billiard news? Why do things have to be so complicated? You should be able to pay the newsboy two bits a month and get all the billiards news you can read.
'
And to actually play pool? You have to get inside an even bigger block of electronic aluminum, which needs to be constantly filled with a magic elixir, which gets more and more expensive by the day, then drive down to the poolhall. Blah! My horse and buggy were good enough for me....and I could grow my own alfalfa for cheap!

And what happened to the corner store where when you strolled by you could see an array of cue caps on display for cheap? Nowadays, you have to buy some electronic gadget and order them sight unseen for more money than you used to be able to buy a whole Szamboti cue for. My buggy whip business has suffered tremendously in modern times! What's a man to do??!

Jim, posting pictures is easy as long as the photo is hosted on the internet somewhere. I can't post a pic that is only on my computer but if I upload from my computer to a host site, I use photobucket but don't recommend them. (I've been with them for 20 years so I'm vested.)

once the photo is hosted I just copy the code by clicking "share" from the host site, then click the photo displayed at the top of the post box (next to the emoticon control) and select "by URL" ( click the chain "link", get it) and insert the code in the box provided and click insert like this:
costa-rica-fishing-map.jpg

If you want to post a picture you find on the net just right click on the picture and click "copy image address" then back to the controls at the top of your post window and click the photo, the the chain "link" insert the code you copied and click insert:

Easy pesy. Questions?

Pictures are way easier than before. There are many ways to add pictures depending on where the source of the picture is.

It doesn't even need to be saved on your computer.

As an example (on a PC) I simply press Windows-Key, Shift key and the S Key (Win-Shift-S) to capture a copy of the image on the screen to the clipboard.
Then click in the post and press Ctrl-V to paste it into the reply. It took about 5 seconds.

The computer is just an electronic tool. Like any tool it takes a minute to learn how to use it, and all its possible functions.

I am so glad I don't have to deal with Tapatalk anymore.

Can figure out Computer stuff? Find 12 year old to help.🥳

I remember when there were no drug commercials on TV. If you got sick, you went to the family doctor and got what they prescribed.

I dislike all commercials, but I HATE drug commercials. I watch people (attempt to) drive; I watch people out in public;, who have no clue that there are other people on the planet; and I notice the abundance of reality TV shows being broadcast on a multitude of channels.

THESE people are supposed to be able to perform their own, independent medical diagnosis and decide the course of drug treatment that would be most effective for them? I mean, why else are you running billions of dollars in drug advertising? Oh, please...

Our biggest problem is that we fight the computer. Children treat it like paper and pencil or a microwave, no big deal!
I was born in 80, childhood was computer free but got into them at about 15 years old. With computers or new tech in general (phones etc) you just have to play with them a bit. When kids first pick up pencils they struggle. They play with them and draw things. Eventually it's second nature. It really is the same with computers, you just have to poke around and play a bit. As long as you aren't deleting system files or downloading shady stuff you generally won't have a problem with computers. Just gotta poke around at them and play/experiment. Also google (or your search engine of choice) is your best friend. Even software developers and IT people google, in fact more so than most people. The answers are all there if you can figure out what to ask.

Computers and tech are here to stay, for better or worse, no use fighting it. :)

I remember back in the day when operating on AZ billiards was FUN .

Now everything I want to do is above my pat grade . Things are so much more difficult to figure out .

I not a computor wizard , but it would sure be nice if I was . I see everyday people complaining about posting pictures mostly .
I tried leaving feedback for a buyer , I could not even get that accomplised .

Why is it so much better to make it more complicated .
Is it becouse there heads are so much bigger , there noses are so far in the air , they want to keep the fifraft out .

I used to enjoy A Z Billiards .

Reading the replys , I dont think you realize my complaints , WHY SO DIFICULT TO POST PICTURES , WHY SO DIFICULY TO LOOK UP OLD POSTS , TO LEAVE FEED BACK . AND MORE ???? THE KISS SYSTEM WOKS BEST , KEEP IT SIMPLE STUPID .
It is hard for me to answer this post, as I don't see the new software as all that much different from the last software. As has already been said in this thread, things on the internet always change. Platforms are updated and some become obsolete and are replaced by the latest and greatest thing.

With that being said though, I am happy to help try to walk you through whatever functionality you are having problems with.

Mike

I think that doesn't work on Windows 7. There you need to use the MicroSoft "Snipping Tool" (comes with Win7) or some other app. What does work on all Windows versions (I think) is to drag the image file from a folder and drop it in the message-edit window. The image file needs to be less than a megabyte.

The snipping tool lets you copy an arbitrary shape from your screen:

Good point. Haven't used 7 in a while. What I referenced is just the newer version of the Microsoft snipping tool.
