I still want to do this.

I am always working and trying to come up with great new and different ideas. I have a few projects that I am currently working on and some will work and some will not.

However some of you may remember this and I still want to do it in the near future. please take a look and give me your thoughts. I think the last time I had said that we would have a maximum of 20 people. Let me know if this is worth anything to you and how much you would be willing to pay for something like this. The last time we had all meals and hotel included but that does not need to be just thought it would be cool for everyone to sit and eat Breakfast, lunch and Dinner together for the weekend. I would love to hear your thoughts. thanks. I know I need to work on getting the price way down.

Here is the info that was attached. I blanked out the price that was the original as that does not count at this point. The whole thing would have to be re worked.

From coast to coast across America, the all-time most legendary American pool champions blazed trails that continue to influence young players today. Together, they create "The Magnificent 7". For the first time ever, seven renowned billiard veterans are coming together for an entire weekend to impart their knowledge on a lucky group of twenty people.

In three days filled with not only clinics and exhibitions, but also fine dining and storytelling of the golden era of pool hustling, seven living legends (Buddy Hall, Nick Varner, Mike Sigel, Earl Strickland, Johnny Archer, Keith McCready, and Jimmy Mataya) will put on an event that is surely any die-hard pool lover's dream come true. This once in-a-lifetime opportunity will take place at Billiards Ink in Denver, Colorado on November 12-14, and is limited to 20 participants. Read on for more details and a brand-new promo video created by NYC Grind's Jerry T...

The Legends and Champions Pool Tour Presents The Magnificent 7

It is finally going to happen, and a lucky few will bear witness to a little piece of history as the Legends and Champions Pool Tour presents "THE MAGNIFICENT 7". "I have wanted to put this together for some time now, and I have finally got all the pieces of the puzzle together," said Mark (T-Wheels) Cantrill, the promoter and agent to professional pool players.

This VIP exclusive weekend will be open to only 20 participants that will be held at Billiards Ink (www.BilliardsInk.com) (Formerly Table Steaks South) in Denver, CO on November 12th, 13th and 14th 2010. "The Magnificent 7" are group of living legends that will probably never be in the same room at the same time ever again to tell their stories from the past and share their memories of the road and tournament play.

The Magnificent 7 is comprised of:

Buddy "The Rifleman" Hall
Keith "Earthquake" McCready
Johnny "The Scorpion" Archer
Mike "Captain Hook" Sigel
Jimmy "Pretty Boy Floyd" Mataya
Nick "The Kentucky Colonel" Varner
Earl "The Pearl" Strickland

As I am sure you will agree, this is quite a line-up of billiards history, and sure to be a great experience. "I had to tug a couple of them out of retirement to make this happen, but once I told them the line-up, they all wanted to be a part of the reunion and meet some of the loyal fans who remember 'the good old days'," commented Cantrill.

The schedule for this historic event is as follows. The weekend-long event will be held in a private setting, and all meal are included and will be eaten together as a group:

Friday November 12th

7:00pm - Champagne reception and meet & greet at Billiards Ink

Saturday November 13th

9:00am - Breakfast (cooked to order)

10:00am - Pool Clinic
All VIP guests will be separated into groups of 3 and will then spend one hour with each of the seven pros. The pros can obviously only show you so much in that time frame and so they will be be focusing on answering your questions about the game and showing you some of their own tricks of the trade. there will be a 5 to 10min break between each hour.

1:00pm - Lunch

2:00pm - Clinic resumes

7:00pm - Dinner

We will then be done for the day, but I imagine that the night will not be over.

Sunday November 14th

9:00am - Breakfast

10:00am - Begin the Pro-Am Scotch Doubles Tourney. A 20-team bracket will be in place for a 9-Ball single elimination race to three. Each Vip guest will be drawn to play with one of the Pros, As a pro is eliminated he will be assigned a new partner from the remaining VIP guests.
There will be a $200.00 prize for the winning team and a trophy for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places.

Lunch will be served around 1:30pm during the tourney.

3:00pm - Q&A Session/Story time: The pros will answer all your questions and tell some of their stories from all their years on the road that some of them have shared. This part is probably gonna be very funny.

5:00pm - Break to change and rest (Approximately break time, depending on how long the Magnificent 7 keep the talk going.)

7:00pm - Farewell Banquet and Awards. (Probably Surf n Turf).

8:00pm - Exhibition: Each of the Pros will do a 25-30 min show that highlights their own personal exhibitions.

11.30pm - Photos, autographs and farewells

The fee per VIP for this once-in-a-lifetime piece of history is $?????? All food is included in the price

For more information or to sign up please contact Mark Cantrill at 480-612-7732 or email cantrillmark@yahoo.com We have hotels that are offering a group rate to our guests at the Hyatt for $89.00 per night and La Quinta for $62.00 per night. We will be shuttling our VIPs back and forth twice a day.

This is just my opinion, so take it for what it's worth. The concept is good though with 7 legends I would up the group to 28 so each could have 4 students in small group sessions.

In this economy, I would think that roughly 1/2 of the original cost would be the maximum folks would pay, considering they will still have to pay for their own travel and hotel.

JMHO.

I can see what you are saying. Thank you for the input, thats the reason I put it up there to get a feel for what I can try to work out. Alot of expenses in an economy that isn't lending itself to the cause. Thansk again and I will take what you have said and put it in the mix.

Love the Idea. Ever thought of including any of the women of billiards? Maybe even a Jean Balukus, Ewa Mataya?

I really have no relationship with the women players that I can lean on. Its a good idea but just trying to stick with what I know right now to be honest and get a feel if I should even take the time to do it. These things take alot of time and work so if I can get this to work I will maybe look at getting Allison, Corr, Kelly Fisher etc and see if there are enough of the ladies who would want to do this. Good idea.

I am getting some geat PMs on this with some great ideas on how it can be made to work at a very low cost. All theory of course as we all know once you put things into practice the results can change :)

let us know when you come up with a price, and when you will start accepting people to participate in this. I am interested very much.

I will do, its gonna take some time I imagine and I need to get more response before I can even start to work on it. If there are not enough people to just say "hey I am interested if the price is right" then I really don't have anything ya know?

Im sure you know someone who has Ewa's info. You know what really sells. Get her on the team if you can. What can you lose 5 min on an email?

It sounds great. Only problem is Denver is a little too far.
hey Buddy, Just a reminder for anyone who is looking at the date, time location as a problem. That promo video is old. The pool room owner that we were working with closed his doors unfortunatley. SO, with enough interest we can do this just about any place in the country at any time of year. Please disreard the detail on that promo video as they are all subject to change. I am going to look at it all again today and see if I can make it affordable and then see where we can do it and when. I will then have to talk to all the players concerned and make sure that it works for them. Then put it out there for anyone who is intertested and hope we can get the numbers.

Mark, looks awesome. Can you please tell me the music you used in the youtube video you posted? It fits so well with the "vintage pool" vibe!

The fact that Keith will be there, by itself, makes me want to be a part of this. Keith and Jimmy in the same room telling stories........ this should be interesting to say the least.

Well as I said before, I have to get them all to agree again to do it. I was telling someone that I would pay to just have my picture taken with all these guys at one time. And I would bet that if there was a group pic of them all together, I would not be suprtised to see that picture up in a pool room in 20 years and people look and see if they could name each of them. I have seen those old pictures like that myself and done the same thing. Anyway, thanks for your support. I am working on the numberts right now and hope to be able to put out more feelers and I will prob start a different thread,
