Theres a local poolhall that has 10 lehmachers and they play like garbage. The bag pockets and flush corners are nice but that all they got going for them. And if someone wanted a gulley return then half the reason for getting a lechmacher is out the window. When earl and johnny passed through they couldnt help but complain about em. Especially Earl. Id take a GC any day of the week. or a Metro or a Centennial.
I cant stand the rails on diamonds but other than that theyre not bad.
and i definitely like to hit some balls on a gabriel. Combining all the best elemets into one table has got to be worth something.
I didn't say all Lehmachers are great or that all installations of Lehmachers are great. I said I loved mine and I did. Ours was expertly installed by one of the best installers in Europe and it played like gold.
I am sure you have been to pool rooms where the Gold Crowns play like crap.
As Glen is fond of reminding everyone it's the setup that counts. Now having said that I am sure that there are tables which "move" and get out of shape no matter what the mechanic does.
I am not touting Lehmacher or Kim Steel over Gabriels. I only mentioned that I liked the tables I had from those two brands. I like Gabriels as well and as Eric said they have been in business since 1932.
I just don't like the fact that that they shamelessly took the innovations of others and promoted them as their own. But again, that's business and has always been that way since business was in business.
