But, I won't be there. I'll contribute $150 towards a mini tournament.

I will be sending the money by PayPal, so any one of the "known" posters with a good reputation who has joined the 21st century and has Paypal (hint hint hint), please let me know, so I can get the $150.00 to yah.

I'll take the $150, but I won't be there... I'm sorta known in my own world and at one point my reputation was "beyond repute"

(I thought it was funny...) :p

FWIW, I do have a paypal account... I've been in the "21st century" for quite awhile now. I use the account to pay for purchases, that's it. That is my choice and my prerogative. If you don't like it, I'm not sorry. I handle things in the way that works best for me. Again, if people don't like it, they don't have to participate and they're more than welcome to step up to the plate and do it their way next yr.

Last yr Williebetmore collected the money and opted not to use his paypal account and this yr, I did the same thing. If people don't want to spend less than 50 cents on a small box of envelopes, then they could very well get one from work or a friend. (hint hint hint)

Your offer to sponsor a mini tournament is generous and appreciated but if I'm going to collect the money, it's going to be on my terms and what works best for me. If you find someone else willing to accept your payment through paypal then that will be fine too.

Russ,
Many thanks for the offer. I have cancelled my PayPal account since last year (WAY too many problems). I have a better idea. Keep the $150, get the hell home as soon as possible, and we'll see you at DCC 2008 for the first annual "Russ C. Baghdad Invitational Mini-tournament (I-raq, U-break).".

P.S. - Two forum members came to the DCC last year, played in the room, and when asked why their names were not on the list, claimed they had paid by credit card - very creative, but they were asked to leave.

Hey all,

Our friendly Jay Helfert has stepped up and I have already Paypal'ed the money to him. Together, we are sponsoring a mini-tourney, as well as a "proposition shot" of my choosing.

It's a challenging shot, and as Jay has told me, everyone gets one shot per day at it. Jay, I also suggest maybe allowing one shot per person, per day for the length of the DCC. That means, if a person comes to the party late because of work, or whatever, they'll get whatever days they have built up. If you're leaving early, sorry. You can only get credit for the days since the beginning of the DCC.

So, if a person comes to the DCC on the 4th day of play, they get 4 shots, as previous players have already had three shots, on the previous 3 days. From the day they arrive, however, they only get a shot for every day they are present.

And don't worry guys and gals.. Giving someone 2 or 3 shots in a row is REALLY not gonna matter, unless they've practiced this particular prop shot before.

Russ,
Wow, thanks so much. I can't wait to see the proposition, and I look forward to the Baghdad Mini-Tournament (please change the name if you wish).

Do you have any preference as to what game is played (8-ball, 9-ball, Q Skill Challenge, banks, one-pocket)?

Would one handed, last pocket 8 ball, banking the 8 in the last pocket be too tuff? :D

(This was an even game between my wife and I when we met, at the top of my game. She played straight up, I played one handed, last pocket on the 8 ball, banking the 8 ball. If I just played straight up one handed, I kept running out. She was getting p***ed, so I had to adjust the game...:D )

Not a chance! Nope, I just offered up a little cash out my own pocket to sponsor a few things at DCC.
