I think someone is trying to collect on a cue he doesn't have. I almost fell for it.

Good chance, I would say. The butt sleeve looks shorter than the modern 3 inches, which is a good indicator. The bumper looks a bit dark, but those can darken with age, assuming it's the original brown bumper. The wrap looks like the old Cortland with light specks, but more photos with close ups would help. The points look very Bushka. Close together at the wrap, and the colors look like what an aged Bushka cue would likely be. The joint rings look more like aluminum, rather than the more typical nickel or steel, but Balabushka may have used different materials there. The ferrule on the shaft with the ring looks a bit long for typical Bushka, but certainly could have been replaced. I would have this one authenticated to be sure.

Sorry buddy - http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=190612800229

I don't mean the CAPS but it is a copy and paste.

THIS VINTAGE " MAKER UNKNOWN " BILLIARD POOL CUE WAS PURCHASED IN APRIL OF 2004 FOR $ 5500 !!!

IT WAS PURCHASED AS A GEORGE BALABUSKA BY PREVIOUS OWNER BUT IT

HAS BEEN INSPECTED BY MARK KULUNGIAN AND WAS FOUND NOT TO BE MADE BY GEORGE BALABUSKA

At least now you will have a cue to put that sparkle wrap on.

The grim reaper strikes again.
Thanks Will.

That's OK Rod, it looks like a Balabushka to me.

In the closet!

Amazing find maybe, I'll know more when it arrives. Veneers are natural-green-red-black.

This one is sitting in my closet!! I got on eBay last week and saw it and couldn't figure out who made it but at the price it was at I was willing to take a chance..

Those inserts in the shafts are WAY off.
You got a knock off.
Probably a good cuemaker made it and passed it off as one years ago.
Happened all the time.

Yeah I figured it wasn't one of the top dudes but for the price it looked like a solid player and the point and veneer work looked pretty good. I have a couple shafts I'm going to have put on there..

I have followed that cue.

Originally it was being pushed as genuine.

It's a cool cue nonetheless.

I dig old unknowns.

I got the cue in Monday and called Mark Kulungian about it. He said he believes the points and veneers were done by Burton but is unsure who made the cue. I am impressed by the workmanship in the cue and it is very solid. I have a couple of old Jensen shafts that I can use on it but may get 2 from tascarella to use on it....

A friend of mines in ga just picked up the cue from the bay.. I hope he did not get trapped in a bad cue ...

The All Mighty One Has Spoken... I Guess It's a Jensen!! Either way it plays real sporty...:-)

The guy wanted me to send him $1700 for the cue. Maybe he was going to get it out of your closet, and ship it to me,lol. I would have payed $1700 for the cue, it looks great. His name is Dylan Carbis. Here was his last e-mail to me before I sent the money.

Hello

Rod,
I noticed it on Thursday morning and pondered on it for almost an hour before I bought it. The cue looked nice and had a nice patina to it. I had called Greg Howard before I bought it to see what input he had. I knew it would be taking a chance on buying it but felt like I would be kicking myself later if I didn't..

For the money you did good, IMHO.I didn't bid on it because of all the sh*t that would have been stirred up. To many jacka$$es already that stir sh*t they have no knowledge of.

But I like the cue, and regardless of who made it, you could do a lot worse.

The wording of this has scam ALL over it.....

Well I am glad no one got scammed or screwed over on this cue. I have asked a few people who could have made the cue but it is hard to put my finger on it.. I am wondering who the top 3 possibilities could be?
