Thanks for the link, that looks pretty sporty. I agree that B&H is the nuts. That is where we buy most of our stuff for TAR. I sacrificed a Nikon 70-200 2.8 VR when we started and I want that sucker back in the worst way. Best lens I have ever used. I noticed in the other thread you did some very cool stuff with a fish eye, and I know you like the Gina's, you ever shoot cues with that lens? Kinda curious what kinda stuff you could pull off. Come on, I know you got cue pics in there somewhere......post those bad boys :D

Yeah I used to have the 70-200 as well... I bought it for 800 and later sold it on Ebay for 1000. That was back when you couldn't find them anywhere though. I had the D200 but I switched to the Canon 5D and to tell you the truth I liked the Nikon equipment better... I know Canon is supposed to be the best but the Nikon stuff is so much easier to use and so much more ergonomic its ridiculous. The fisheye has always been one of my favorite lenses just because I like taking weird and crazy looking stuff... i like to have fun with it.

I really didn't take many pictures of pool cues because at the time I was into photography I wasn't into pool... oh well. All you probably need to take awesome pictures of pool cues would be your Nikon, the 60mm, a lightbox, remote trigger, and a tripod. I'm no pro at photography but I'm pretty sure that would do it. I'm a lot better at photoshop than I am at photography...

You may be joking about breaking with the Gus box cue but I can tell you (since it was owned by my brother prior to Will) that it is solid as a ROCK and I'm sure it would hold up for 100 years breakin' with it every day. When my brother owned it we didn't really quite know it's value (although we obviously knew it was a Gus and valuable) and I played with it often. He had a few Balabushkas as well but it was always the Gus I wanted to play with. The solidest hitting cue I have ever felt...period.

Congrats to Will on owning it and to him and the guys at TAR for sharing it with us.

Justin Sure Can Take Pictures!!

Hi Justin,

I have been out of pocket for a while, and just got to a laptop. I have been at DisneyWorld with Rhoda, 4 daughters, sons-in-law and seven grand kids under the age of 7. I was supposed to be taking it it easy!

Justin, I had a memorable time with you at Shooter`s last month. I simply cannot get over how great you are at taking pictures and assembling the pictures into something that really shows off the cues in the best possible way. The Ed Kelly cue and the Gilbert pictures look unbelievable!

It is always fun talkin` pool and cues, but the the time together and stories were special, and i really appreciate it.

I know you are coming back to town in the near future, let`s plan on getting together again. I would really enjoy bringing out another dozen or so cues.

By the way, those of you that have not yet had the pleasure to see Justin and Chad "in action" with TAR simply must get it on their travel agenda. It is somethin` to behold!

Thanks for the kind words about my new Gina, which must pale compared to MANY, MANY of your cues. I don't know how often you play with your cues but I was being honest in saying I have never felt a cue like that Gus....it's nice when they not only live up to their reputation but exceed it, as that cue does.
