Just got this, it looks like a Joss n7 cue. The wood is high quality, the point splices are done by hand it looks like and it's straight. The quality of the mop diamonds seems below par for it and the points aren't even. The pin is actually 5/16x18, never seen on a Joss myself. Tia on any help. There's no writing on the cue anywhere and the hole for the bumper weight isn't machined.

That was the question wasn't it? Any thoughts on who made it? It's too nice to be an import I think. The quality of the materials and splices are not asian manufacture. They don't have the materials we have here.

The coring under the buttcap is pretty low-end Asian

It actually doesn't pretend to be a Joss. It is a design knock off. Probably Chinese. I used to be surprised to see them at the bca show. Knock offs of designs be other cue companies right there at the show. Bob Meucci got really pissed one year.

Thanks everyone! I think I will keep it, I like the looks, I've got some piloted shafts for it. It may end up being a good player for me.

Curious where you got it. Did you buy it believing it was a Joss? I think if you look at the arrows in the butt sleeve. The black inside Vs I bet are painted on and not inlayed. It is amazing how they do it. I've seen whole points painted on that were hard to tell.

The Chinese are one of many countries who could not care less about copyrights , environment , pollution, rights. As long as we buy...they will sell.

On the bay,it was pretty cheap. Looked it over better today, the points are actually even. The points are genuine and the splices are hand done that I can tell. I've seen painted on work before, but can't find it here. The diamonds are cnc made I think. It only has a few dings, I'd say someone cared for myself. I have a shaft that works with it, about 12.80 tip size. I did confirm the pin is bent a bit.Theres a local cue maker here and I have some work for a few Adam cues so the plan is to take this one to him also.

Odd thing about it, why not just use the same pin as a Joss in the first place to make the copy more complete? It's not like the cost of one joint type is that much higher than another as long as we are not talking about ivory or something exotic like titanium pins.
