American Black Walnut please tell me about this wood with reference to cue building, weight, density, application, can it be used? have you used it?

It is considered a hardwood, but my experience is that it is too light weight, to use in cues. I have cored it & used it, but it isn't a wood that I would choose for cues...JER

I've had a few old brunswick conversions that had walnut in them (one was curly and BEAUTIFUL)4pt/fs and hit pretty good, but like has been said its on the lighter side.

Would make a good break cue or one pocket cue for those that like something lighter in one hole like I do.

It hits good IMOP just light like others have said.

Here is one I put together a few years ago. It is my player and hits great. I did have to add a little weight to it but it is now 19.3 oz. Walnut with curly maple points and a natural stack wrap.
