IDEA: AZer Virtual Cemetery Forum

Earlier today, I saw the post by DeadPoked about OldHasBeen, who would have been 62 years old, today. With that honorable post in mind, I offer this idea...

Why not have an AZer Virtual Cemetery Forum, where we could start a thread in honor of each AZer who passes away? If someone wants to read or write about them, they could simply find the thread started in their honor. Maybe the user names could also be retired into the cemetery forum area, for folks to continue to find posts and other info by/about them.

What do you guys think? Who do we need to contact to get a virtual cemetery started up? Is this something for Mr. Wilson? I'm new at this suggestion stuff.

I like the idea, while my body in planted in a National Cemetery, my Spirit could always be here to haunt this site!!!!!!!! Now that is really scary!!!!:D

Or we could gather enough ashes and mix it with some glue and come up with a pool player type MDF board. I think maple is currently used, so we could also grind up their pool cue and mix it in with the ashes and a good bonding agent, it would make a killer table eh Man W.?:D :D

I like the idea but what do we do about those guys like Walt Frazier who keep coming back from the dead? :)

I think we should contact the Catholic Church and have them invoke the sacred Rite of Exorcism!!!!!. Now if that doesn't work the Islamic Extremists would be my next choice, they could start a Virtural Jihad!!!!!:p Then in a final attempt to remove any Demonic personalities we could contact Ghost Hunters Virtural, they recently had segment on removing Demonic Ghosts from the Virtural World of the Internet!!!

Sounds really morbid. The title "Virtual Cemetery" almost sounds like some clever metaphor until you realize it ACTUALLY IS a virtual cemetery for dead posters.

I think my computer just felt a chill up it's RAM.

i have posted a few times about a section for deceased members of the forum, instead of a virtual cemetery i'd like to see an azbilliards hall of fame, if an active member passes they make it into the hall of fame, and if they were a banned member as long as it's confirmed that they really died they could be in the hall of fame(John Morton), instead of a post or something it could be a section similar to the pro player section underneath the banned members list where u view forum leaders and could be easily referenced by new as well as old members

That's a much more enlightened and uplifting idea. You get a rep point for that.

I like the idea of a Hall of Fame, HOWEVER...

I think only a select few should be allowed into it. Just folks who made a major positive impact on the forum... and I think there should be some kind of vote or something, to determine if a person should be added, or not.

Last time I checked, I didn't think they inducted folks into the Billiards Hall of Fame just because they played pool and died.

So, we'd still need a specific forum for recognition of our deceased members, so we don't have to list them in the Main Forum, where we'd never find all the threads.

Great. Now I'll have to check the newspaper obituaries AND the deceased forum every day to make sure my name is not there. :)

You missed Walt's reincarnation; his coming back with a new identity. I was speaking figuratively. I'm sure Walt is doing just fine. He may have given up on AZ because he was so easy to identify. :)

To the Masters of the Forum

To AZHousePro, or whoever would be in charge of creating a virtual cemetery on the forum, please check out post 2 of this thread. I believe it speaks for itself.

Thank you.
