Ideas that haven't saved pool

I thought regular odds were worked out (over time) on essentially the same basis though, driven by offsetting the bets on all sides.
And fargo ratings would give you a very good statistical basis to start from, even if you didn't do any more analysis.

Perhaps they're worried about being cleaned out by players dumping.
Nope, paramutual wagering is based on two parties wanting to place a wager on a game or sport, based on skill, not chance to win.

The house so to speak holds both parties money, then pays the winnings to the party winning the bet, less a handling fee for being the broker.

It still doesn’t stop the dump

The only way to stop that is random draw of the players before each round of play, and no inside/outside forms of communication to or from the players.
Can’t stop biz between them. A simple hand motion or setting the chalk a certain way once is enough to change any outcome.

My guess is that seven ball was an inexpensive mistake. It had been conceived as a means of promoting the ESPN Zone locations and likely had some sponsorship from ESPN Zone. It didn't last long, but I'd guess that the losses to those that staged the events were insubstantial.

Bonus Ball, on the other hand, was an expensive venture in which the investors were likely hit very hard. Give the fans a game they don't know a lick and they won't watch.

But to do that requires knowledge of what the bets are first, and that's not happening, the players WILL be kept in the dark, as well as any spectators.

Exactly. My brother loves cricket and can watch it for days, but I have no idea what’s going on and lose attention after five minutes.

Well ask the bookies in Las Vegas if they take bets on Big Pool competitions. Believe answer is still no.

Reason is they got burned on a DUMP long ago. Why still money in place with people playing games.

Asia is home to lots of online gambling.

Just imagine someone betting on if you are dumping or not dumping. Digitally it be like texting on your phone.

You need to read Willie Mosconi Bikography, Willies World.

Early on in book Mosconi say Pool was never as big as years of Willie's birth, 1913. Pool has been on down hill slide since 1913.

This has been beat to death.
