Who would you bet on, or pick to win? Must be played in Johnny Archer's pool hall in Marietta, Georgia.... Lag for the break, After that winner breaks! Shot clock used. $10,000 or more prize money or bet... Playing even! I would be there for this match up!

No disrespect to Archer, but i dont think this would be a very close match,SVB in a runaway!something tells me u like archer in this match up lock,SVB would be the heavy favorite in the betting publics eye,i do believe, but as we all know that doesnt mean Johnny cant win, nobody in the world can fade those packs that SVB can and will put together, his break is the deciding factor against anybody!

everything in the opposing players favor? check

shane with his back against the wall trying to outrun the nuts on someone else's conditions again? check

I think I've seen how this has turned out before buddy

I dont think this match will happen. Have read that Shane wants to play on a Diamond and Archer wants to play on a gold crown.

If the match goes as listed above, Shane would be the favourite and I think Johnny would win. Its hard to fade playing a guy who gets to sleep in his own bed at night while you live out of a suitcase. That alone is tough, without mentioning Johnnys home room and home table.

True, but it should be mentioned that Shane beat Mika on basically his home turf in NYC last year

this is 9 ball though.. Archer had the 9-ball break mastered back when Shane was still shitting in his pants...

on modern equipment the 9-ball break is a trick shot.. or should I say trick shots I know at least 4 different ones and I'm pretty sure Archer knows more than that..

break is a wash

You are correct sir,i didnt even notice that, thanks for keeping me straight, you r correct about Archer and the 9ball break also,i was thinking about 10ball because that is all the top players seem to be gambling at lately,i better start reading this threads a little closer,so i dont miss something like that again!

I have never sw Johnny play 10 ball bfore....

I don't think 9-ball would be part of the equation.It would be10-ball.

The game is Nine ball!!! Not Ten ball. Johnny Archer's pool hall was my home pool hall for several years. I watched him play often. Thanks for your input.

What does it say about your confidence in Archer being better than SVB if you describe Archer as needing the home court advantage in every possible way?

That's the real question here.

That is the weight that JA gets.

Home court, and everything. The question is still the same!

I think this game would be closer than most would think and not a runaway for Shane. Johnny does have 2 speeds fast and snail slow. I always thought he played better fast, so the shot clock if anything would possibly help Johnny. Again this is nine ball and let's not forget that he did run 13 racks against Bustamente. I know that was a long time ago, but with home court advantage Johnny would have the table down pat (break, speed of cloth etc) and is very capable of putting some big packages together. For these reasons I would give Johnny the nod to be victorious.

Archer may have a chance playing 9 ball where he can string some racks together. 10 ball however, Shane is just a beast and if Archer is sitting in his chair (like Alex was) then it doesn't matter how well he plays.

Hypothetically speaking, with your stipulated conditions, my money would be on Archer. Not the house however.

Realistically speaking, this match would never take place as specified.

So... mox nix... it doesn't really matter what you or I think might happen.

No disrespect intended but it doesn't make a lot of sense to speculate on an outcome that stands no chance of being proven.

Let's face it, Shane plays 10 ball on a level of no other human being. He broke and ran 38% of the time for three straight days on a table with 4 1/8" pockets. In the first match he did it 33% of the time. That is ridiculous.

You have to consider that Shane often played safe to increase his chances of winning the game. If a sell-out was not penalized and he went for everything as he would playing the ghost, he might have been close to 50%. No offense to anyone, but I don't know that anyone can fade that kind of firepower.

Those are really impressive / intimidating numbers. Difficult to fathom on that table.
