If the Riv goes down

Maybe BCA, APA, Valley and the rest could stike a deal with one of the Biloxi casinos and bring pool back east for a while.
Sure it would be much cheaper for the leagues to host
Which I'm sure they would return their saving to the players......HAHAHAHA I KILL ME

I'm thinking even further east. I don't gamble, drink, or do hookers, take that away and Vegas is just a bunch of lights.

but as a resort destination there are lots of cheap flights/hotels, if it were anywhere else you may not get the turn out.

You kill me too! They get the Riv now for nothing. The BCA will never spread it around!

where to play

The BCAPL is Headquartered in Las Vegas. And let's face it, Vegas is the Big Town when it comes to fun stuff.

I would like to see it come to the East coast every other year, but it's hard to argue with the tournout they get for the BCAPL in Vegas. Johnnyt

I can understand that Johnny, just like I enjoy it being within driving distance of my home having it in Las Vegas.

I would like to defend the Riv, because I believe it is a pretty good venue. Yes, the hotel itself is a little long in the tooth but that helps on pricing. If this was held at a nicer place on the strip everyone would be paying closer to $200/night for their rooms. And there are no cheap rooms within walking distance of say the Mirage or Caesar's. The Riv has cheap rooms at Circus Circus across the street and the Sahara down the block. BTW, a cup of coffee in the morning at Circus Circus is $2.75 so the Riv is not out of line.

People have to remember that a lot of people in the BCAPL tourney don't have the capacity to spend $150/night for a hotel room. And of those that can afford that for a typical trip to Las Vegas may choose not to for this event since many people are staying 10 days to 2 weeks.

Also, Mark is putting on the 10 Ball event as well. There are those (including me) that come in just for this event. Vegas is a more attractive destination for those patrons of the Pro event.

Lastly, regarding the BCAPL not wanting to give up a sweet deal with the Riviera. I don't know what the arrangement is but if I was playing in the event I would be glad if the hotel is "giving away" the venue since it probably means more money in the prize fund. He is in business after all and putting on this event would be an awful lot of work just to be trading dollars.
