If you could be world champion for one discipline, which would it be?

Be it snooker, carom billiards, russian pyramid, 8 ball or many of the other games out there that have a world championship yearly, which would you want to win?

I would say 28.2 Balkline, if brought back. Who would challenge that? Think of the difficulty of having to drive an object ball out of a Balk area that large, to continue to score...

All the best,
WW

Thats the american equivalent of the europeans
71.2 balkline
They still play it as well as 47.2 amd 47.1
47.1 being the most difficult smaller boxes but only 1 carom allowed before driving one ball away

Frederic caudron is not only a master of 3cushion but a master of the small games and yrly wins small game titles including 1 cushion

Eddy leppens is a mastee of each carom game as well
Dick jaspers the current number 1 3c player on earth has just as mean a balkline and 1c game

So theres plenty of that going on even now just not known to pool players ive posted balkline and 1c videos all over this site if interested to see current videos pm me and I'll show you the way

Great info. By boxes, do you mean the seven inch anchors? And they're smaller than seven inches now in Europe?

It used to be I could find a few carom tables in the DC area. We didn't play Balkline, it was only three cushion. Now I don't know of any carom tables around. That's a shame.

For tables that may be in your area look at
3cushionbilliards.com
They have a where to play tab that you can search your area

The anchor boxes are 13cm for each game
The bigger boxes are 47cm and 71cm

Pretty much no one plays balkline in the states just 3c and libre
I have my own table marker for the balkline games that i play on my home table fun fun never ending challenges and creativity

But therea some hope for us to learn
Balkline amd 1 cushion champion xavier gretillate has a pdf with his lifes work in billiards 30 bucks for 700 plus pages of balkline knowledge
He evem offers training via webcam and video archives of him explaining everything about each shot he also posts his practice sessions on his Facebook group of him practicing and high runs in balkline games amd 1cushion

Snooker, because I think it would be like a relative hanger to beat up on nine ball and one hole players if you ever felt like it, and were willing to spend some time on a pool table, which you probably never would be of course because there is no money or no anything in pool.
