If you could go back in time and watch just one player...

That's a difficult one. I'm not really sure. Probably Raymond Ceulemans not sure which match or year though... I would also like to see Blomdahl live, but still not sure what year. Maybe that a match where they played each other. So many professionals I would love to see live, if only I had the money to travel. Hopefully one day soon.

...in his (or her) prime, at the peak of their game, what year would you travel to and what player would you want to see?

1985, Texas, Buddy Hall VS. Efren Reyes, Buddy put Efren to sleep for $10K. The only man to beat Efren at that time on his first trip to the USA. Good thread.

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart... yes he had a table and some cues in his home. Of course music would be the conversation and the main interaction along with billiards. I would then get back into the time machine and go forward to play a few games with Liszt, Mikulka, Rosenthal and Shnabel - all great musicians and masterful players of pocket billiards.

Luther Lassiter in the 1960s. Straight pool, nine ball, one pocket, you name it.

Ditto! And, I really wish I had got to see him while I was in the Navy at Little Creek, VA. He sometimes played and practiced at St. Elmo's, in downtown Norfolk.

Andrew St. Jean

I would like to have seen The Great St. Jean...who came from my hometown of Lowell, MA
