If you had $1000

Alex still make cues?
I thought he quit and went into furniture business.
He made nice stiff cues ( thick butts and thick shafts ala SW ).

He's been the "houseman" at JOB BILLIARDS in NASHVILLE, TN. for apprx the last 2 yrs.

It's the largest pool hall in this area and he stays very busy.

I think he made 5 cues last year and is on pace(lol) to make about the same number this year. This is not inclusive of "sneaky-petes".:)

Try to buy a Southwest from someone who is broke..
A used SW for $1000...
Just how many have you members seen in your lifetime?

Thats about like trying to find a used Searing for $100...you'll grow old & die looking.:D

I have bought a used Jerry Franklin Southwest for $800, and it was in great condition.

I have also purchased a used Searing for about $750, with one shaft.

You need to be lucky, know the right people, be at the right place at the right time, but it is not as impossible as you may think.

I am sure I am not the only one who have done this here on this forum.

For 2000.00 I would have to go with....

6-Pt Snakewood Rick Howard Custom...
Matching Rick Howard Break/Jump w/Snakewood butt Sleve....
The Rest would be spent on a plain Jack Justis 2x4...

I would be useing Ricks stock shafts with both cues and they would both have Water buffalo tips on them...

For a Grand?, or even 2 for that matter, I'd go get a quality jump break cue from someone like Mr Varney with 2 shafts...1 for play, 1 for everything else. Stuff that badboy in a Porper, and take the rest of the money and go to the Derby City Classic for some ACTION!:D

Shows you know nothing about cues and spelling.

Dyslexia and being an ahole mixes, I guess.
Ken asked a question and you respond with a stupid remark. Worse, you think it was funny.

Hugan must be a secret term as Google says there is no such thing as a HUGAN POOL CUE, following a search.

For a grand you should get a used Andy gilbert j/b and a Andy Gilbert or kenny murrell playing cue and a 2x4 porper case.. Cues play great ad the case will get the job done IMO...:) :)

Save $500 more. For $1500 it's an easy answer.....get a plain 4, 5, or 6 point gilbert with veneers ($800ish), gilbert jump/break ($400), and perhaps a nice, used justis case ($300). You really can't do better than that IMO.

A fancy Varney SP with Sniper tip and almost matching plain Varney J/B just like I got last spring.

About the case I don't know. Mine is a POS.

I would go with a Pat Diveney J/B, and one of Pats fancy hustlers. The beauty part is if you have time he will build them to your specs. Lets see, so far thats about 850.00 or so, you could score a nice 2X4 leather case with your leftovers no problem.

Yes this is a good one...........

If i had $1000

I would buy a nice used Szamboti or Balabushka and just break with it as long as i had 2 shafts. Then i would get one of those Justis tooled elephant hide cases to keep it in.Until you could upgrade this setup will get you by.M.S.

George is still fine...sold the Mother property for the new light rail system.
Eric & Dilworth are still there...but dead...just a few old time regulars who won't bet the sun will rise tomorrow.
Independence has been gone for years.
Johnny comes around occasionally.
Gene got run out of town a few years ago for stealing Kelly Oyama's SW & selling it to a roadie.
He's back now...but hides in Monroe...he's old/crazy/full of shit stupid.
Wesley still lurks around looking for a cheap one hole game...his level of play has gone WAY down now. His exwife Kelly opened some lesbian nightclub uptown with her girlfriend.
I MISS MOTHERS EVERYDAY OF MY LIFE!!!!;) Its just a field now.

Try http://www.hightowercues.com/AvailableCues.htm
4 new cues under $600 to choose from. Break Jump $275. Still have enough left over to buy a Porper case to hold them. Any in stock cue on the site is 10% off for one more day with another 10% donated to the Cancer Auction on the Wanted/For Sale forum. The special also applies to any used cue on the site also. We also have a bocote cue with numerous sterling silver inlays on special for $695. Take 10% off and you really have a deal.

Jack Justice Cases

Thanks a lot to all of you for the responses. Doesn't appear to be any real consistency on the cue front (not really a surprise here) but there does appear to be a general consensus that 'Instroke' or 'Jack Justice' cases are the way to go. I've managed to found numerous suppliers of the 'Instroke' range but have yet failed to have a successful hit on any of my web searches for 'Jack Justice' cases. Can anyone point me in the right direction? A website with plenty of visuals, range of product would be good and also a website that can do the best deals.

Any idea where I could find out more about Hagan cues and where (if at al possible) I could get one?
