The White Obama
September 20, 2009, 4:21 pm

So Jimmy Carter and a bunch of other idiotarians have claimed that most if not all of the opposition to Obama’s Health Insurance Takeover is because Obama is black. Here’s where I’m having a problem. How do these guys think it would have gone if Obama wasn’t black? Like, say John Edwards won. Do they really think it would have gone like this?

John Edwards, POTUS: I want to completely take over health insurance and fine anyone who doesn’t pay for it.

Republicans: What?

John Edwards: Single payer healthcare. It’s time. We Won.

Republicans: Well…

John Edwards: IwonIwonIwon!!!

Republicans: Well… okay.

John Edwards: I’m glad you guys are on board. Why, just the other day I was channeling dead babies, and they told me that socialized medicine was just what this country needed.

Joe Wilson: YOU LIE!

Republicans: Joe? WTF? Can’t you tell that the president is white?

Joe Wilson: Huh? (Squints) Oh, sorry, sorry. I just got new contacts.

George W. Bush: Hey, some racist said that you also want to give free healthcare to illegal aliens. Is that true?

John Edwards: YOU LIE!

Democrats: Damnit George, what the hell? This isn’t some black guy, this is the president of the United States of America! I don’t know about you, but we think that’s a pretty important office. How dare you treat a president like that, you monkey-faced Hitler-like person that we have constant assassination fantasies about!

John Edwards: Oh, and we need a new tax. Cap and Trade. Give it.

Republicans: Hey, we’re in the middle of a recession. Might be a depression. We don’t think that this is a good time to raise taxes. We don’t think that there is a good time to raise taxes, but this is probably the worst.

John Edwards: Achem. (Holds up a porcelain plate to his face and points)

Republicans: Oh, right, right, we forgot. Go ahead.

Kanye West: This joint session of Congress is pretty good, and I’m gonna let you see it, but I just wanna say, Hillary had the best socialized medicine plan of all time. Of all time!

I actually was not a member of this site but I tracked back to it by virtue of all the hits to my blog after this post. I'm very grateful for the good review and, as someone who has an immense love of pool, I am going to make this forum part of my regular reading! Woot! I even liked the self indulgent remark because it had the word eloquent in it :-D

I don't know how I stumbled on this website, but given the content, I am sure that this person is either a member, or reader of this forum. I've been reading the many pieces he has written. Brilliant and comedic, I feel 7 IQ pts. higher for reading it thus far.

I have a pet peeve about the misuse of the word "its" vs. "it's" and after seeing it abused twice in the first paragraph, I jumped ship.
I'll give it another chance in a day or two since the guy's a member here.

The writer of the first article leads me to believe that he feels
that Ayn Rand's man as a rational animal is meant to be a seeker
of truth. I don't see it. Maybe you could enlighten me on some
other thread.

No, my point was not that mankind exists for the sake of truth (however that would work), it was that our natural inclination is to interpret reality in a way that is beneficial to ourselves. I always use the example of a pool player who attributes his own success to skill while attributing his opponent's success to luck. This is unrealistic but it is in some ways helpful, especially inasmuch as it can insulate us from despair when we get on a losing streak. My main point is that absorbing of objective truth does not come natural to us (and I'm sure if Ayn Rand were alive today she would say that my terms are nebulous and she would probably flick cigarette ashes at me but oh well).

seekers of the truth, duh!

I am not arguing with your point of view ie: man's interpretation of what,
" is," in a way that is beneficial to himself. But that it is a caveat to Rand's belief that man is a rational animal. I see no seeker of truth in rationality, only a seeker of that which is rational. :boring2:
I understand that you shoot a mean game of pool, Mexigogue. There, that makes this a legitimate posting in the pool forum !
