Gene Albrecht (GenoMachino) has been discussing perfect aim and selling his DVD's for years. He has what is essentially a very entertaining and enlightening blog on his road trips. It's possibly the best content I've ever read on AZ Billiards:

Surely he's sold a TON of dvd's to us right? Not exactly. His i-trader is exactly 2.
C.J. Wiley has been offering his products for a while now. C.J. was a highly competitive pro player and captained the US Mosconi cup team (played on it too). Here is some teaching straight from the mouth of a pro who has been there, done that. A lot.
While C. J. may not be able to retire on the i-trader 6 dvd's he has sold here, some of us will treat him like he can.
Stan Shuffet has put together what was a word of mouth, little understood, highly misquoted and confused aiming system, has a fanatical following including some successful pros. He's been a professional pool instructor for 30 years.
Who knows more than Stan? Maybe you do. His i-trader is 2.
I just want to say that WE are getting a lot more out of Gene, C.J. and Stan than they're getting out of us. So if you're tempted to criticize them for pitching their products on AZ, please consider they are getting almost no action from us. It's pretty obvious these guys love the game.
We're going to the production studio at 4:00 - we're getting CLOSE.

I am glad you said it, Tate.
These guys, along with BigTruck and all those tournament directors, are making MILLIONS, MONTHLY off of this place which we use, for free, to discuss this game we all love and hope to make better
Ha; hope it gets done; money is burning a hole in my pocket waitin on it. Actually have been using it since you started posting about it. Think I have it about 50% figured out or so by your postings. Went to the bar the other night to play with a bunch of league players I know. We normally play BCA 8 ball. I was running out from everywhere; they asked me what the hell got into me and I just replied toi baby, toi... they said yea whatever... I'm hopin none of them figure out how to order the dvd :grin-devilish:
The members here have been very diligent about leaving i-trader for me, so I wonder if it's really the case. However, at the very least then, the members who have bought from them should leave i-trader rep - it's not too late to do so.
Chris:
Your i-Trader experience is MARKEDLY different from mine. In my years of being here on AZB -- and having done a good bit of commerce, purchasing cues, DVDs, pool accessories, etc. -- only one vendor, Nancy Cote (of Cue-Z / FingerSlides fame) has ever left me i-Trader feedback. The rest couldn't be bothered, even when I tried to chase them up and ask them to give some. So I gave up even trying a couple years ago.
To me, it goes to show how UNRELIABLE an indicator that i-Trader is, regarding commerce done here on AZB.
So, to me, i-Trader is essentially useless in determining how much business a particular vendor/hawker has done on AZB. It's sad, too, because it COULD be a useful tool, if effort is put into participating in it.
Anyway, going by CJ's/Geno's/Stan's/et al. i-Trader rating as some kind of "indicator" of how much commerce they've done on this site, is about as relevant as someone's "rep" rating in determining whether his/her posts are worthwhile or not. I think many of the sales go direct to his/her website, even if the "seeds" for that sale were spawned here on AZB.
I'm sure geno has sold a heck of a lot more of his DVDs and lessons than indicated by his "2" i-Trader rating, and I'd say the same for CJ and Stan (and others) as well. In fact, I'd go out on a limb to say that, with confidence.

I dont think anyone is against them selling anything, well thats how I read it anyway I thought the problem was they are doing it on the main fourm and not in the forsale fourm, I believe that training aids such as videos should be in the main fourm and equipment like cues and tables should be in the forsale fourm. The arguments shouldn't be who is selling stuff but what they are selling! I should have the same right to sell a training video I make as any of the pros do whether you buy it would be up to you.
