I re-read the original post and even visited their website to see what prompted your post. The original post doesn't say that they're looking for ideas, nor do they sell t-shirts, nor have I seen anything mentioned in this thread on their website. Not to mention this thread was started 2 months ago and AdChalk admitted that they were new and still learning.
(thread date is Sept 08 and their join date is Sept 08). Sorry, I just don't see where your post was warranted.

This is a thread where someone inquired about people's favorite poolroom t-shirts. It's very much like this thread here but I don't see you voicing your displeasure in that thread.

Who cares? If someone wants to ask for ideas and people want to give them then what's the problem?

Anything like ideas and concepts that anyone freely gives away here can't be owned anyway. The EXACT representation of a slogan or something like that can be copyright protected but not the slogan itself.

No one owns "pool is cool". You can put that on 5000 shirts in 5000 different ways.

The only thing you can't do is use other people's trademarks. I can't make a t-shirt that has the SouthWest cue logo on it without their permission.

UNLESS it's a parody. When you do something as a parody then you are allowed to use a similar representation - sometimes.

Asking people what they want is actually a very good way to gauge - gasp - what they want.

By doing it publicly anyone who MIGHT be interested in getting into t-shirts is also giving the existing competition the same info thus negating any competitive advantage as far as being the first to have the ideas.

Try not to be so critical. The Ad Chalk people have a good ORIGINAL idea with the Ad Chalk and they are just trying to engage people in more conversation.

This doesn't work because it interupts the flow and states the obvious.

You had to see the orginal t-shirt to get it.

See Dick Stroke - featured a beaming Dick full of arrogance.

See Dick Choke - showed Dick ripping up the cloth clearly worried.

See Dick Broke - showed Dick standing there with his pockets turned out.

The back of the shirt said - Don't be a Dick - If you can't afford to lose - Don't Play.

I hated that shirt because every time I wore it I ended up being a Dick.

It was a great pool shirt though.

with a picture of a pool rack below that.
 
For women:
"How'd ya like my Rack now?" with an imp-ish little girl-smile

or just a big fat lipstick kiss on the 8/9 ball with the caption "Kiss it goodbye!"

BTW... I don't care if somebody "robs" my ideas, I'd just ask that they send me a free shirt! But I won't piss and moan and cry if they don't. Cuz we're just a big happy AZ family.:canoodle: :kiss:

When player's want you to spot ball's,how about a shirt that say's
'If you want something soft,check in your pant's!':grin:
