If Your Team Would Like a Cheering Section ...

To those who will be competing in the amateur team events at the BCAs, if you'd like a cheering section, it will help if you indicate the name of the team you're on and whether your team is in the open or masters division. Then some of the AZB faithful could come sweat some of your matches.

Great idea. I know I will be checking the site a few times a day all next week and if I see a match coming up with an AzBer, I will try to get out and cheer them on.

I had to play a guy who was subscribed the TV Minder last season. Out of the blue he asks who Mike Howerton is. It was pretty strange.

Watch for Allison (15 yrs old) or Chelsea (12 yrs old) Hardwick matches, two sisters from Evansville, IN playing in the women's singles tournament, Allison in the women's master and Chelsea in the open. Our poolroom has been sponsoring their trips to Vegas for the last 3 years. I believe they're the youngest players entered in the women's divn, maybe up and coming stars. Good Luck to both.

Bill's Team/Doc & Eddie's, out of Albuquerque NM, can use all the help we can get!! :D

Hi Eydie,

The nice folks at BCA changed my entry from Mens Senior's to Mens Master's. Bill said something about being too good? Not in this lifetime! Anyway, my team from this coast is "Tom Jones #1" from Lyons, NY. I can assure SJM we will need all the sweat he and other AZ'ers can generate. I'll see you and Bob there. Best of luck to all!!!!

CardiacKid,

Oh, how I wish I was going to Vegas this year to root you and your team on! I would love to see you kick some Master's butt. If I were going, I know you would do me the return favor of watching me play in the Women's Masters.

'Thin To Win' is my team name and we are in the Open division.

The name has a few meanings.
On Long cut shots, you hit em 'Thin To Win' that way if you miss it hits the long rail and back to the center of the head rail.

We are also Humble, and we thought 'Thin To Win' was fairly appropriate, but then we won our league anyways.

I forget the 3rd meaning.

In poker (and, I guess, other card games), someone will cut the deck "thin to win".

Our team out of Modesto, CA is called Team Pain...Look for us in the Open Division. I'm the captain and I'm looking forward to meeting some of my fellow posters here! Modesto is fielding another strong Open team, they are called Out and About, which is apt because they are always either getting out or about to! As for the meaning of my teams name, Team Pain, if you play us all will be revealed to you! I'm leaving in three hours, and Vegas is eight hours by car so I've got a long day tomorrow. Good luck to all, see you on the table in Vegas..........Marc Swisher
