If you've owned your Simonis X-1 for at least six months...

I bought mine roughly two years ago and use it every few days. I also vacuum the table every 3-4 months.

I would definitely buy another because in my experience, it works and works well.

Is it worth $89.00? I wish it were less expensive just like I wish tips, cues, and everything else was less money.

If it's quick and easy, I'll be more inclined to use it. That's what I see as the most important advantage.

x-1

As long as you keep in mind that it only picks up chalk dust and does little for anything else.It does what it is advertised to do. Not sure it does enough to warrant it's hefty price tag. A microfiber cloth gets about the same results.

Vacuuming and X1

Well I'm not at least going to invest in a X1. I also read where vacuuming is destructive to cloth. Eventually lifting cloth fibers. I'm not taking sides so for now I'll brush the table 3 times a week very lightly with a good brush for tables. I play every day. and chalk every shot but am careful with it. I brush in one direction only, always. Then vacuum the pockets after brushing. Then clean balls. Cover always. Cloth is 14 years old and rolls well.

It's nice to have all the tools if they work well for you.

I have one and had it for over 3 years. I wouldn't buy another as I only need one. :D

I also use micro fiber cloths and they seems to work as well and are a lot cheaper. The cloths do wear out and there are also different qualities. the only advantage to the Simonis X 1 is that it also serves as a brush and you can groom the table with it getting all of the nap going the same way.

Also use a shop vac but you have to be careful that you don't actually suck the cloth into the attachment as it will stretch it.

It works best on Simonis.

Don't waste your money on the Chalk Off or what ever it is called as it will stain the cloth.

i've had one for 2 years. it's ok to quickly remove obvious big chalk marks, but it just doesn't compare to what you can do with a hand vac, or a slightly damp microfiber cloth. not worth it, imo.

I like mine now. At first wasn't too impressed, but you really have to get some good movement going with it for the static charge to work. I wasn't at in the beginning.
Not a total replacement for a careful vacuuming though.

I've had mine for a couple years. Its ok, but not great. My biggest gripe is it only gets the chalk. It does not get random lint and hair that accumulates on the cloth. So you still need a vacuum or something else.

I do use it as described in the instructions and rub vigorously in circular patterns, then I go down the length of the table in straight lines to comb the cloth. I'm using it on simians 860. It also wears my arm out a bit.

I would not spend the $90 again on it if I had it to do over again.
