last week alone Bernie Friend and linda carter wer'e featured guests on larry king and regis all in the same day! you got to hand it to mr. trudeau for keeping his word,not only with this ace tour,but promotions as well,for the first time moms and ordinary people from all walks of life have been exposed to pool,we shall see if it reflects in the rating on VERSUS. by the way for those of you who don't know, ABC network owns versus and the IPT has been seen all over primetime in ads on national television throughout ABC and their affiliates,man this is huge advertisng dollars!, in fact mr. trudeau, spent a reported $350,000 for a 60 foot billboard advertisment along the vegas strip with strickland vs. fisher, and their faces profiled way up high above the strip! this is first class all the way, the ipt players are now offically household names!!!!!
although efren reyes won the biggest pool tournament in history the world open ,back in reno --in chicago in early december it was a different story,when efren faced off with british superstar chris melling, chris melling drilled efren for an 8-1 victory. this will mark a new era in british superstar 8-ball international players, and an unprecedented 8 million + dollars given away in 2006 alone!
a couple of suprises in chicago when virtual unknown Bernie Friend placed 22nd. out of 150,when asked why the big improvment, he stated:"i just went for it this time,without thinking too much, i just went with my gut and had fun, and left my brain out of it,it sounds funny but i play better when i just glide and have fun" this miraculously puts Friend into the 2007 season guraenteeing him $100,000!
WAIT! this just in---------- we now go live to mr. trudeau coming from his hotel room at the wynn in vegas: "i want to thank the world for letting pool into their hearts, and to show my appreceation for what everyone has done to make this #1 in ratings ,even eclipsing poker, i am going to pay all of the players who made it for 2007,right now in cash!"
wow, you heard it, a warm statement from a man who was called, a scam artist, and a crook, now what do you think of him? you gotta love him,he is paying all of the 2007 players up front in cash, in 2006! i guess this is their best christmas present ever huh?!!!!
