I'll take George Breedloves' offer!

I'll call his bluff, where do I sign. He has to do what I do and I have to do what he does for a whole month, heck make it 6 months just to be sure!

PS
I assume Jeanette is part of the deal?

:p

Dude, If Timberly gets mad at you it's your fault.

Maybe you should take him up on his offer. There is some great action in Indy. However, it does not seem like there are too many that are willing to put up the big cash when they go there....hmmmmmmmmmm

It would be easier to take him up on his offer - then try to point out that someone was blowing off steam - and make an issue of it.

PS - There are plenty of players that finished below George that do not work a "real" job and do make their living playing pool.

Who is out of shape? Even the last round when George was eliminated he beat John Schmidt, Kieth M., and Sammy Jones. He also got 7 games on Hatch. I'm sure all of you would have breezed right on through to the next round. Take him up on his offer.........

Joking aside, having spent 13 of the last 14 years studying or working full time I certainly know where he's coming from. Players like hohman, Niels, etc are very professional I hear, working out and practising all day, tough to compete with that but if he say's it its sour grapes of course. It doesn't mean it's not a handicap of course, it is, but he doesn't have to play if he's not ready and he certainly should be if he's on the IPT

I read your comments alot and tend to agree with you, I was just giving an answer to what George said/says.......so what if he works hard, alot of people do. Big deal.

Stevie,
Though I've never heard George say it, it sounds like a pretty good bet for him. His hours are unbelieveable (probably closer to 80 than 60, and it is HEAVY physical labor; he's not holding down a desk).

I think his proposal is probably directed more towards the "top 10" players; who I do believe would have a very tough time maintaining their elite status with such a work schedule (which of course includes little or no pool except at tournaments).

I do agree it smacks a little of sour grapes; but I'll tell you he does bet his own (and in large quantities); I doubt he would back down from the proposal. I for one would NEVER work with him (I'M TOO SOFT!!; and his schedule includes about 4 hours of sleep at most - man I need the sack time); and as you know, I can't play a lick either.

Having met you; you just might be the kind of guy that could do it; it would certainly be entertaining. Given the complexity of such an arrangement, I really wonder if it was a serious offer (seems VERY unlikely to draw any takers), or more of a comment on the state of men's pool.

P.S. - If you are ever down this way, make sure to drop by Betmore's Basement.

After being knocked out, George said anyone that wants to work with him for 30 days and do what he does then play some...he'll bet 50k.

I'll work with him and do what he does for 30 days, then he has to work with me and do what I do for 30 days, then we can play some and HE can bet what he wants. I know a TON of people that would take him up on that, there's a few on AZbilliards as a matter of fact.

Does he really think he's the only one that works, deals with life's ups and downs and plays pool decent?

From the looks of the tournament and the attitude of quite a few players, they would have done better to forget the players lounge and put in a nursery with complimentary diaper changing for all the crybaby's there. They can make it the "International Pampers Tour".

I hope potential sponsers (for the Tour and/or players) don't think the majority have the kind of attitude some of the players are showing.
Dee Adkins will say the same thing to the top players. Dee works full time putting on roofs and I didn't know what work was till I helped him put mine on. I have done lots of different jobs and never worked so hard or got so hot. Most people don't know this but Dee is lucky to be alive. After he won the Derby city all around he fell of a 30ft roof, broke his arm in three places and was bed ridden for several months with a blood clot three inches long. Hid body took 2 yrs to recover and that was right when he was just starting to play his best.

George is one of the nicest and classiest guys not just in pool but in life. He was at The Pool Room in Marietta for an IPT Qualifier a while back and did one thing that I, as an owner of a business, rarely see. He was on his way to the rest room. He saw a piece of trash on the floor, bent over and picked it up and threw it in a trash can. This happened during his rest room break from the tournament.

As a business owner, I appreciate it greatly. There are very few people that would do something like that for someone else.

This is unusual? Who knew? I do stuff like that all the time, especially when the actual employees busy running a tournament or otherwise occupied. I find it hard to believe that it is that unusual.

I Love ya Don,

Between you and me, I know exactly where George is coming from, I've said the same kind of stuff myself to people but there's a difference when you're gambling as opposed to this setting. We know nothing is going come of this but I just needed to say something about how the players are acting there.

This is an entirely new development for pool and quite a few people just aren't taking it serious enough. Why is it that the comments come after a loss or being knocked out??

What's wrong with "I work hard for my family and I came here and played my heart out, I hope I can do the same or better next tournament. I'm proud of myself".

The old mentality regarding pool and tournaments HAS TO GO if we are going to try and build on what KT is trying to do.

Anyway, I've been trying to get away and come see you (my wife wants to come with me) to knock some around. I became a Grandpa 5 months ago and I've been enjoying that but maybe I can get away in a couple of weeks. Just so you know, I like both George and Jeanette and they don't need to make any excuse's for me about anything. He plays great and some of the stuff he can do on a table is sickening (meaning unbelievable)! There isn't any dought about that.

That's awesome! Congrats grandpa! Boy or girl?

Beautiful little girl, Tatiana. My daughter loves her heritage and wanted a Russian name. We call her Tia. I cried like a baby when she was born and I held her.

Thanks Tim.

I saw Steve lamako play in a tournament in Jackson MI.I watched him play a match with a guy that ended up tacking second place. Steve couldnt get a roll if he had a hundred dollar bill and he was in duncan doughnuts. Everything in the match went against him. No whining and complaining. Steve i think you make some valid points about some of the players attitudes on the IPT......................

Awww, now you got me choked up! My grandfather was my world... adored him from day one. Sounds to me like Tia has a special grandpa too. ;)

You've got PLENTY of time to take pics between now & the DCC. I expect you to be showing me some photo's when I arrive in Luuuueeeevul.

I was talking about his "comment" specifically.....but also alot of the attitudes that players are having there.

I like how you said what you did.

Kind of ironic.
I was in Detroit, with the Clown, a couple of months ago. The three of us stood in front of the Rack (I.m sure you are familiar with it) discussing this very thing.
Congratulations Grandpa!

IPT success

From the results so far in Vegas, I would say anyone could benefit from spending 6 months in the Phillipines playing pool. Their winning percentage has to be the highest of any group of players.

I LOVE Breedlove's comment. I hope they recorded it for television. I LOVED Earl's reaction on TV after his loss to Gerda. This is the kind of personality that makes the average joe audience LOVE or HATE a player. That is exactly what will sell this sport.

I think this is the key. The IPT "reporters" are seeking out these kinds of player reactions as much as possible, and I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if KT were actually ASKING the players to really let us know how they feel when they win or lose. People will be more attracted to watching IPT broadcasts if they see the players as personalities, and as people for that matter, rather than just ball-pocketing machines.

How many NASCAR fans got sucked into the sport because of the personalities involved, vs. how many of them just like watching Chevies turn left? If the fans didn't get a chance to know and love/hate the drivers' personalities, the bleachers would be empty.

George said what he said, and according to those who know him this isn't the first time he's made the comment, but I'm guessing he said it in this situation with this timing because the reporters were looking for somebody to make comments like this.
