pool sure seemed alive and well in the state of Illinois with nearly 1000 people playing at the Illionis state Acs tourny. Great time seemed to be had by all.
What did everyone think of the new venue? personaly I liked it though it was a little crowded, but realize hard to plan for the number of people that came. Play seemed to run efficiently, and I had a great time Thanks to the Illinos ACS Torrnament committee

Is that a state tourney or greater Chicagoland? It is a good tourney, well run and plenty of fun.

I just don't think all of the state is being served. I don't see this tourney ever moving to Rockford, Springfield or Peoria. It's pretty much a regional event.

Dont know how much of the State plays ACS but if they did I am sure they were invited. I did meet people from Peoria, Decater,Ottawa, all the Chicago area. What is important is we have alot of people playing pool. That is all that matters.

Rich, I think Duane is asking about the venue itself moving to other areas of the state. I think when they started it as a BCA state turny, it started down state in some town like Danville. I also believe since the bulk of the players come from our chicagoland area, that it has moved closer due to that fact, and the fact that they had a much larger venue this year. i may be wrong, but it seems to make sense to me. BTW, did your glasses make it the rest of the weekend without snapping?

yes the backup glasses made it. it this Mike?
I do not know the history of the venues but I think the Chicago area makes sense with the number of players around Chicago. if it is a regional event so be it there was more than enough compatition for me. I think if they moved it away from Chicago area attendence would decrease due to cost. I know alot of people commuted daily and the hotel was still full. It is just good to see alot of people playing and i dont care if it is ACS, BCA, APA,Valley, or any other way people play. I JUST LOVE THE GAME, and support all forms.

Yes Rich. its Mike...how did your team finish.

Hey Duane

Missed you at the state tourney. It was a nicer venue but not a lot of room to walk behind the tables. More people came as well. It makes sense to put it in Chicago, they can take trains etc. There were 197 teams at the event.

Chris

I really liked the venue but I still wish it was where it was in years past. Only because it was really close to my house. There really wasn't room to move around to get to the inner tables.

Sebas I didn't see you there did you play this year?

Does anybody know how far did Jeff Jones's team make it?

I talked to Jeff on sunday, and he said they finished 9th-12th.

I am currently running the website, and I will get the results up as quickly as possible. In the past the results have taken months to get put up, but now I will strive to have everthing up (including all the pictures past and present) ASAP. I have just redesigned the site, and I am still held up until the full results are sent to me from the ACSISA president.

Is that you Mike?

I am glad someone is taking the task of getting past pics up on the site. I can imagine it is a crazy and seems like an endless task. My team got second place i the 08 open teams event.it has been two years and still waiting for pics. So i appreciate the effort you will putting into getting everything updated.

Your welcome. I was diving more into them today, and they are really a mess. I have to try and see if i can get a copy of the pics again year by year as they are all over the place on the websites old folders. But i will get them up!

I did however manage to get the results up for this past year as Dan Taylor sent them to me.....enjoy!

ACSISA Results

The team I was on came in 5th / 6th in the mens team tournament.. I did have the pleasure of meeting Cuaba!!!! What a grind; on Friday we started our first match at 12 noon and played our last match at 3:30 am Saturday morning! Then on Saturday our first match was at 1:00 pm and we got knocked out at 1:30 am Sunday morning.....We lost a hill / hill match..

They didn't update the actual dates and times of the tournament until maybe a week before it started. The PO box to send in your entry fees wasn't even correct anymore if you mailed it in before the deadline. I'd like to see the '11 results as well. Probably be ready around Feb '12.

Pretty sure Ike beat Practico in the Mens Masters.
Tony Z beat Practico in the 9Ball.
Lance Mayer won the 8Ball Open.
Debbie T won the Womens Open.

I am sorry to tell you you are dead wrong. I personally updated the site about a month and a half before the turny, and put new updates up every week or so as i recieved them I can only guess that you didnt refresh your old cached page, and was getting an old page. I do not yet have the results, or the picutures. As soon as i do the results will be posted right away, and the pictures as soon as I can get them all laid out correctly.

I know in the past the site was not updated very often, but since I have taken it over last year, I have tried to update it every time I get any new info. I do agree that the results are late this year, and i have a call out to the director to get me the info. But please don't make comments that are not even close to true, thanks.
