I'm curious, how many racks have you run in a row(9-ball on 4.5x9 only)

What's your lifetime highest consecutive racks run amount on any 4.5x9?

Details don't matter to me too much, in competition, practicing, tight table or not. I'm just curious what the average "high run" of forum members is. Honest answers please, mine is 7(once). Ran 5 a couple other times and 4 several others.

I ran a rack, once. Unfortunately I had been drinking and did it on the table next to mine where a couple of guys were playing eight ball.
They were taking a piss break at the time, and when they came back I was standing there bragging about it to one of their girlfriends.
Things kind of went to hell in a hand basket right after that. :)

Basement

By myself with no competition in my basement and with presidential rolls 3.In tournaments 2 but always with combinations aiding the cause. It does not help stringing racks when you have a weak break as I do.

I've run multiple on a barbox.
Around 3-4 (I think) on an 8 footer.
And only 2 on a GC3.

I've run one rack of 9 ball, on a triple shimmed diamond, in my life.

So if your opponent breaks dry and you run out, and then break and run 8 more, is that 8 or 9? I answered 8, but feel like the 9th is mine too! lol

I put a three together once in practice. I generally only play alternate break in matches so don't really keep track of that kind of thing. I'd be super surprised if I'd put more than three together, though.

Does it have to be break and runs or do early combos count? Cause I ran a 3 twice but making it on break or early combo included I got a 5 and a 6.

5 is my best on my table at home. Away from home only 3 racks with one short game combo for a total of 4.

Combo's and 9 on the breaks count.

Combos definitely count, I don't personally count 9's on the break but they also don't stop runs either. If you run 2 make the 9 on number 3 and then run the fourth, I count that as 3 racks. But that's just my opinion.

The most I have done is 7 in a row at the pool room and dogged the 8 on the 8th game. Had it on film until some bottom feeder robbed my house and stole the camcorder.

Two answers:

Five racks, getting the six ball.

Three racks, getting nothing (opponent wouldn't let me use his break cue for the fourth game )

I prefer the "five" answer.

Over 20% can run 7+ racks on a nine footer ........

Pretty strong field.

An early 9-ball or on the snap should be part of the 'pack'.

I was at a tournament once where they offered a special prize for running the set.
But they said 9-ball on the break didn't count....so I stood up and declared
that I would like to exempt myself from that break prize..I was asked why...
I said "Who wants to be one game away and HOPE you don't make the 9 on the break?"
They agreed and changed it to 'a pack is a pack'.

Earl's million dollar pack had early nines and off the break in it.

I'm not gonna say the number I entered in the poll for my pack....
...but I will say it was unfinished...it was for the dough...and the backers ran out of cash.;)

seven

I broke and ran 7 on a Gold Crown I playing a race to 7 for $10 against a B player that was getting the 7+8 balls called. I won the coin toss and it was over in about 25 minutes. That was 2 years ago. I tried to keep going to see how many I could do, but thought about it and broke them bad, breakung dry.

I broke and ran 8 in 8 ball on a Valley 7 foot. Then the guy quit me.

This was when I was playing a lot more 2 years ago, running out was almost unconscious. It slips away if you dont compete often, at least it did for me a little.
