I have to admit I am a little disappointed with Joe over at Cue Components. I had read a couple of posts bashing him and was a little leery of dealing with him. I called him to place an order last week. He was polite and friendly on the phone, even helpful when I asked about something I was confused about. Then he volunteered a shipping date without me even asking.

Next I got an e-mail from the shipping company. The package shipped the day Joe claimed it would.

Today the package arrived. The products were more than what I expected and when I e-mailed Joe with another question that e-mail was answered in thirty minutes or less. The internet pricing had been outran by further reductions and he had applied the added discount. That was the final straw. Joe has made it mighty hard to not spend more money with him. I'm already roughing in my next order. After dealing with suppliers that were hard to deal with Joe is plumb disappointing!

Hu, you're bad man. :D

You realize that you just got the Joe bashers mouths watering with that title. :) We will most likely see some posts in reply with ominous warnings of "sooner or later" you'll see, "Sooner or later".

Joe has been great to me for many years.

I must be one of the lucky ones. My past experiences have been fine also. Joe has taken time to chat while on the phone, followed through with everything he said, and made each deal good. Only once did I have to have a couple of punky pieces of old growth rosewood replaced. He took care of that without any problems. I think his attitude has improved after recovering from his illness and moving back to Florida. He gives us one more option to get parts from. That I like. (<:

I have had some problems dealing with Joe at CueComponents. I hate to be the new guy complaining and flaming but I must speak the truth.
Joe has a 'take it or leave it' attitude.

Let me tell you about my bad experience with Cue Components. I ordered a number of items from Joe and also received a confirmation email that my items had shipped. When the items arrived I was missing a Bacoti Spliced Butt that I had ordered. I called and spoke to Joe, he immediately found the problem and corrected it by having another Butt sent out. However, when the item arrived, there was not only the missing butt, but a complete duplicate order of my first order. I again called Joe, and explained the situation to him, he was a little surprised but he checked the situation out and everything I said was right on the money. I had not been charged for any of these additional items, so Joe had the choice of having UPS pick-up the items or sell them to me at a discounted price which he offered do without me asking. I am very satisfied with the people at Cue Components, they act professionally and the products are very good quality. I would recommend Joe, and this company to anyone who was involved in this business.

you are probably right

You are probably right about his attitude, especially if he hasn't had any dealings with you in the past. Joe doesn't strike me as much of a butt kisser to hustle business. Of course I am the same way. "Here is a good product at a good price, if you don't want it somebody else does." That is my attitude and it may be worse than Joe's.

I haven't tried to negotiate prices with Joe. He sells at a fair price as it is. He also has repeatedly pointed out ways I can save money, ways that cut into his profit I might add.

Nobody dealing with as many customers as Joe does bats a thousand. I never did when I was in a high volume business. Sorry that your dealings or attempted dealings with him didn't please you.

Joe or someone in his shop sent me the wrong shafts. I returned the shafts after emailing Joe. After confirming the shafts were delivered I emailed Joe asking for a refund. Joe claimed that shafts were never delivered. So now I am out the cost of the shafts, the return shipping and my time. Joe's final response was he is running a business and did not have time to track down my missing shafts. The USPS confirmed delivery to Joe's Vegas PO Box.

Not to say whether Joe did anything wrong or not, but USPS sux!

Having used all the major shippers in the past, we prefer UPS. When it comes to sorting out shipping issues (lost packages, damage or otherwise), they beat the sh&% out of FedEx and USPS!

Vegas PO Box??

I'm confused Joe is in Florida. Unless this was before he moved.

Maybe you sent to the old address?

I've only bought once from him and everything was great....I won (5) 1 x 30 shaft dowels on one of the ebay listings and they are nice pieces of wood...I'll keep doing business....

I have been doing business with Joe off and on for a little over 4 years now. I have had one problem in over 20 different purchases and he took care of it immediately. I believe he is a man of his word. He runs a business and at times problems occur. If everyone is going to fault people for a problem and never do business with them again then sooner or later they will not be in business period.

I personally like Joe’s attitude. There are way too many free loading people out there that want everything for nothing and his attitude is if you are going to do business lets do business not sit and be the free loaders personal nanny.

As far as the lost package all I can say is Joe's been back in FL for awhile now and maybe the package was claimed by someone else but you should have the tracking info and should be able to locate it. If not you probably sent it back the cheapest way you could and hence lays the problem. Also if it was a recent return you must have not have been in contact with Joe prior to the shipment as I am sure he would of told you the correct address to ship it back to.

Hope you find your items but I have never had issues like this with any of my suppliers from Hightower to atlas or even with Joe as I always have away to track anything I send back. Good luck with you hunt!

Hey Guys I am done. I think my post derailed the original thread. Good luck in your future dealings with Joe.

I remember this problem well. Yes, Mushashi may perhaps have confirmation of delivery to our Post Office Box in Vegas. However, and as we explained to him on at least three occasions -- please provide us with a signed record of delivery. Mushashi has yet to do that. The item could have never made it into our Post Office box because the item was too large to fit into the box (so, we wonder what type of "confirmation" he has). Therefore, we would have had to sign for it. We never signed for it nor can Mushashi supply proof of us signing for it. The box should have been insured as we do with every shipment because we value our merchandise. Had Mushashi had the same concern and value for the return of the shafts, he could have filed a USPS claim. That was not the case nor can we be held responsible for lost shipments or shipments mailed carelessly.

And, it's not our responsibility to "track down" lost packages since Mushashi mailed it and has the tracking info, supposedly. If we ship a package to you and it gets 'lost', we (as the shippers) are responsible to track it down; not the recipient.

OK, I guess that's about it so let me get back to the lovely New England whether and the shrimp and lobsters. The food is great! The whether sux.

Our best to all.

Kind Regards,

Joe

Nowhere in your reply do you deny getting the shafts, you are giving what appears to be hypotheticals... It looks as if you really couldn't give a shit less about a "small time" guy like the one you quote as it was just a few shafts, but I will say that what you have displayed is blatant lack of understanding for your customers....

Kind of like how you are jacking prices of other items AFTER orders have been placed...

Perhaps you and Bob Meucci have something in common....

What the heck are you doing Joe?!?

You are on vacation! Turn off the computer and leave it off until you get back on the job. Glad you are enjoying the groceries and sorry about the weather.

Joe's response to my post sucks. Joe you opened your mouth and this is my response. Joe shipped me poor quality, mis-matched shafts. The auction was for private resereve, matched pairs of identical weighted shafts. The shafts I recieved were B quality and mis-matched. I confirmed delivery through the post office. When Joe find out that I had not insured the package he stopped helping me and used the excuse that he did not have the time.

Ross,
I appreciate your post. Am I the only person that has had difficulty dealing with Joe?

I did have delivery confirmation. Joe knows this. I sent him a scan of the receipt. His solution was for me to file a claim with the Post Office. I asked if he would send me more shafts at a discount and he said 'no' claiming that he was losing money.

I think Joe was mad that the auction closed low. Maybe this was his plan?

It is your lack of Integrity Joe...

No problem, and you are far from the only one that has had problems... I have a good friend who just got dicked around by him as well...

Joe's pathetic reply shows his business ethics and what he thinks of his customers, IMO.

His plan?

Maybe your package wasn't lost. Maybe Joe flew to Los Vegas, signed for and received your shafts and then caught the red eye back to Florida to maintain deniability. Seems like a lot of trouble and expense to get over on you about one matched pair of shafts but who knows what evil lurks in the heart of Joe?

You say you already have the delivery confirmation scanned. Why don't you post it? If the weight matches two shafts and the signature matches Joe's you will have him dead bang in front of all these customers.
