I just found out that i will be attending the US open next month.......for free!!! I just happen to be in Virgina Beach for business the last four days of the tournament. So, my company will pay for my flight, hotel and food, all I pay for is my VIP seating. $120 is not bad to finally meet and watch some of the best players in the world. Is Efren ok with signing autographs? Ive heard he is ok with it, but I assume he is surrounded by people non-stop. What can he sign my cue with, a sharpie?? I will retire my cue after that and get a new one. Man im excited!!!!!!

I wish we were going :(

Make sure to meet up with some of the AZBers attending, they will show you a great time!

Congratulations!

One of the reasons I've been able to meet so many people on the various boards is because I travel as part of my job (corporate manufacturing engineer). Not like a salesman, but much more than a manufacturing engineer. We have plants in Chicago, and Louisville as well as a dozen other places in North America. It was a trip to Louisville that coincided with the Derby City Classic that hooked me to that tournament. I've flown there on the company dime three or four times now, staying right at the Executive West.

I've never seen him turn down an autograph. Most people have their cue signed with a sharpie. Some people will have a cuemaker spray on top of the signature to protect it.

I've requested autographs from almost every top pool player you could name and had zero problems with any of them. Be prepared to cough up 100 bucks if you want Rempe to sign a ball though.

That's an awesome deal.

Though I have a place on my expense reports for entertainment expenses. The company would pay the $120 too! LOL. They are pretty lenient about the entertainment as long as it is termed "morally acceptable." LOL.

Have fun and be sure to post some pics!

Congratulations! Your in for a real treat. :D

Almost all of the pro players are very friendly and willing to sign autographs. Just don't approach them right after a hard loss.

Many people from AZB and the CCB will be there.
Look me up. I will be sitting in the front row of the Jacoby section and most of the time I will be holding a big camera.

i believe im in the second row of the jacoby section. I spoke to my boss about this and he said $120 is nothing for entertainment. so i get that for free too! any tips on flying with my cue? should i get my cue or a cue ball signed? im thinkin havin efren (my favorite) sign my cue and a few others sign a cue ball, and display it as anyone with a signed baseball would.

If you are in the second row, you won't be able to miss me. My wife and I are on the end of the first row.

Sorry, I can't help you with the rest. I have never flown with my cue and I don't collect autographs.

Must be checked luggage. You can either put it in a durable case (In Stroke style) or pack it in a large bag diagonally. Have fun.
