I just want to commend the powers that be for making the raffles their own section here in our beloved AZ wanted for sale section. Im not trying to stir the pot either way here folks so please dont think im trying to cause trouble i just think it was a great idea.

Sincerely,
Charlie

A risky move IMO, as forum management is now not only acknowledging illegal raffle activity, but condoning and contributing to it. I, for one, don't mind the raffles at all, but am concerned about the legal repercussions to our forum. :o

Can i ask something without stirring up an argument are the laws on raffles enforced that heavily that the people on AZ here need to be worried. I ask only out of curiosity.

My perception of that is that if anyone was 'watching', they were gonna see the raffles whether they were in the W/FS or in their own section. It's not like they were well hidden amongst all the FS ads. ;)

I would like to add that since they have been moved to their own section...the main W/FS section had returned to a normalcy that I believe that many of us had missed.

My point was not that the raffles were hidden before. My point is that now if there is any enforcement action, forum officials cannot claim ignorance of the actions of it's membership. In creating a seperate section for raffles, they have now acknowledged the activity, contributed to it's continuance, and are now fully liable to any legal action as a result.

Although I like having the raffles, and don't care where they are kept, trading this legal exposure for a return to "normalcy" was not a good trade IMO.

You put this thread in the wrong forum. This is the wanted/for sale forum. This should be discussed in the general forum so now you as guilty of clogging it up as they were...lol

Don't worry, if something illegal is being done here on this Private website out of Arizona, it will face the same consequences as the calcuttas at the pool tournaments in Texas.
Some d*ckhead will find it necessary to try to alert 'the authorities' and spoil all the fun. I already have a few suspects in mind.... imo (members that just can't let it go).

Doug
(I imagine that there will be some type of notice or Warning before any action is taken)

*I didn't want to offend any ducks out there. Afterall, there are some GOOD duckheads...
