Images from 2011 BCA SW Challenge at Fort McDowell Casino

Thanks for your efforts of taking and sharing them images. Can not tell, so I will ask did the Tables have light above them individually other than the high ceiling light only, like last year with ceiling lights?

Just the Overhead Lights, as it will always be. And you can tell from the photo's that there was plenty of light. (No flash).

There were 4 tables that were positioned in bad spots and were a little darker. And as the tourneys progressed they moved players off of these tables.

Next year if the tourney continues to grow at the same rate, we might have a need for more tables. And there was already talks of changing the configuration so there were no dark tables.

To hang lights would be very expensive as they have Labor Union contracts and would take 1/2 of the added money.

Good photos Tank, hope to see you out again soon, I just need to get over this cold. You going to make it to Skips on Friday night?

Now that I do not understand why you would need UNION WORKERS, as Arizona is a right to work state. Besides the event in on indian nation property, so why involve unions

Why worry about it?

Like you deserve an explanation as to why it wasn't up to your standards?

You ***** cause there wasn't a live stream, now you ***** about the lights.

I guess you were too busy coupon clipping on Sunday to drive your lazy cheap ass across town to watch in person? It was FREE too.

Thanks for coming out, and supporting AZ Pool.

Had a great time seeing old friends...and making new friends. That's what's it all about.

Nice shots Tank..

Under tough conditions to say the least!

The white balance gave me fits, as it did everyone else. It just depended on what light you were under as to what color the person you are shooting will come out.

I saw at least 5 different temperature light sources on the ceiling, not counting the large yellow flowers some lights were behind. It was a challenge!

Nice meeting you!!

Rick

Hey Rick!

It was nice meeting you as well and especially for introducing me to another WV native! Conditions for photography were rough, to say the least, and each "section" had a different lighting condition. I really noticed the lighting was different in some spots just table to table when I played scotch Thursday night. It was a fun event and if you ever need some help covering a shoot or something, just let me know.

Change of dates

What would be the chance of changing the dates of the venue to winter months, nice in Arizona, COLD in most of the country, I would make it a week vacation to get out of the cold in Colorado...Just a thought....

When they first announced the dates I spoke to the BCA about changing the dates, but it doesn't look like it will move for a few years. Summer in AZ is like Winter in other states, so it's the best time to have an event as people like to stay indoors.

They had a really nice pool party with live DJ/Band and food and drink specials. Yes it was 105 degrees out, but with the cabana's, mister systems and hot girls in bikini's, it was nice and cool having a few beers with friends. $5 buckets of beer!!!

I know they signed another year already, so it will be Labor Day weekend again next year.
