In which game will "the cream rise to the top" most decidedly?

I'd go 14.1, one pocket, 10 ball, 8 ball, 9 ball.

Reasoning: 9 ball a few rolls can sway a match at the pro level, so I feel like 14.1 and one pocket are more about execution and strategy and less likely to have luck play a factor and 9 ball and 8 ball I feel are just too easy for the pros if they break well. With that being said, it seems the cream tends to rise to the top at most events regardless of what is being played.

IMHO, i think one pocket and straight pool is a no brainer , then call shot 8ball, then call shot 10ball and finally.....willy nilly 9ball.

Full rack banks
One pocket and straight pool are tied for second

.....IMO.....

you can get the cream to rise to the top in 9-ball; you just have to play a race to 15 (minimum), winner breaks, and call all balls.

Your probably right..,

Full rack banks
One pocket and straight pool are tied for second

I'd rather play short rack banks, but full rack might require a little more touch. One Pocket is second by far, banks , shooting , kicking, the math of the ball count and how it plays into your decisions and the patience required to really play top level.

Well I guess you know what game I Love!

One pocket - There is a reason Efren won the DCC one pocket title so many times. I'd put 14.1 next.

Yeah, I think the cream rises in any game if the match is long enough.

If the question is what game is the most definitive per game or in the shortest number of games, I'll defer to the answers already given.

P.S. And if the question is which game tests the widest range of skills, I'd have to go with one pocket.

I feel like the games of Straight Pool 14.1, One Pocket and Rotation are the best games to test a player's overall range of game playing skills, mental strength, and analytical analysis of a given table situation. Play those games in a drawn out match or tournament competition and the best players with the best skill set will rise to the occasion.

It is unfortunate that of the 3 games I list, Rotation is one game that just is not played anymore. U would probably have a very hard time trying to find a mere handful of young players that have even heard of the game let alone play it. Which is really kind of sad because Rotation is a wonderful instructive game to play.

The other games of call 8 ball, 10 ball and 9 ball have their place in the pantheon of pool games. And I list them in my order of preference of play. But I feel that if u can establish ur mastery of Straight Pool, One Pocket and Rotation, then all the other games become just a basic skill test.
