Incardona Fisher challenge match

Allison did just as well as Efren did in the Derby City 9-ball Division. On her way, she tortured Allen Hopkins and Charlie Williams, both with a score of 7-1 in favor of Allison. I don't think any male pro player is going to torture Allison.
You're right, there are 500 guys that would torture Allison.

bobby riggs played Margaret Chase Court and Billy Jean King on national tv.Won 1 lost 1

Well, my friend, in a eight ahead, I probably personally know forty players that will go completely busted to take a shot. And that's without asking around. Don't let Tv fool you. There are so many players out there, unknown. Slow cloth, dead rails, I would give it a whirl myself. I didn't say I was the favorite, but Little Tony offered her way more than he did me.

Finally, someone that can see the light. Hit a few of these action rooms and sit back and listen. Remember, most men will hit you with two's, three's, fours, consistently. Throw in slow cloth, tight pockets and watch Mr. Steven p Walden. By the way, what's up Brian?

You are kidding right?

Methinks most have a little too much testosterone clouding ye old judgement. The balls don't know who is running them out.

B,
No disrespect intended, but there is NO WAY that Allison Fisher is a worse player than the 500 best men in the world.

If I read your line right, you're saying that in the world, AF is not in the top 500 pool players alive right now, men and women combined? You are most assuredly wrong.

Sticking to 9 ball, I would say that she is in the top 75 in the world. Even that may be too low. She really is a very gifted player with ice nerves as well.

Allright, right here in the Carolinas: Earl, Bj, Sparky, Tony Watson, Parlier, Robert Ray, Wade Crane, Brian White, Stevie, Brian Ezell, Chris, Coltrain (Before), Keith Bennett, Charlie, aw heck JCIN, Ron Park, Scott Lewis, Michael and Peaches Fuller, Abernathy, Hindu, on and on and on. I think all of these guys are probably even or better odds. They all live within two hours of me, and I'm forgetting half of them. I'm talking ahead sets on a slow rag with a gambling atmosphere. I didn't even mention anyone outside of Carolina.

I'm not slamming on Allison, but merely mentioning guys locally that I would probably bet on playing a winner break, ahead set. These guys hit you with racks, plural. Consistently. Screw it, just ask Allison. Ask her what she needs from Tony Watson, Brian White, Sparky, and see what she says. Little Tony gave her the six and the break just to get action. He may have gotten beat, but you take away the break and I'll bet she declines gracefully. The difference is the pace, and the break.

I didn't get into any of the top pros. Sure, one race to seven, maybe. Ten ahead for five thousand, well.....back to what I was saying. Tell'em Brian.

Crawfish, I think the biggest point you're losing is the fact that you say she'll get tortured. I don't think Allison is necessarily the favorite against male pros, but I don't think she's going to embarrass herself. You make it sound as if she's going to have to pray even to win a few games.

Before the WPBA instituted alternate breaks, Fisher had a high run of 6 break-and-runs... in tournament play. Don't forget that she can string racks together as well.

Sorry dude, I didn't take the time to go back and check it out.

Brian WHite used the term "tortured." If you don't know who he is, he's a favorite, also playing Allison. She can play, and she'll hang. Let Sparky hit her with an "eight," and let her come back. Man, just ask her. She's a cool lady. She'll be up front about it.

Crawfish,
She BEAT Allen Hokins & Charlie Williams last week! Why weren't all the guys you named beating everybody like that?
In the list you named, Earl beats her, Mike Coltrain before is also right on, but I say that's it. Watson might have won a set, but doesn't everyone lose or win a set unexpectedly at times? BJ, Wade Crane & Keith B would do "ok", not get run over, but she is the favorite over them others.
She is IN THE ARENA MIXING IT UP, not hustling at a local 6 table beer garden. She has played world class competion for two decades now and DOMINATED! She has MULTIPLE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS and numerous major championships in her pedigree. She is used to high pressure and TV doesn't induce the dreaded "dribble stroke" in any of her games.
The low level of respect she's getting is amazing. Even the top men pros like Earl, Archer, Nick & Buddy rave over her game.
And most importantly, THE BALLS DON'T KNOW WHO IS HITTING THEM. She plays the table, not the men.

That is what I wanted and was trying to say.
4 Star post Steve!

My point is she is mixing it up with women who aren't gonna hit her with "six's and seven's." If you think Tony Watson and Brian White aren't favorites, you set it up and see where all of the pros put there cash. She is a fantastic woman player. One of the best ever. But, you mentioned Allan and Charlie last week. Let her play Allan an ahead set. Have you ever seen her gamble? I have. Ask her what she needs from Johnny. Six and the last four wasn't enough. You think Johnny would offer that to Tony Watson? I don't think so.

We could talk about this topic until we're blue in the face, but it'll never happen. She is an asset to the sport and a fantastic player. Besides Jean Balukas, the best ever, in my book. But, when you're talking about winner breaks versus quite a lot of men. Ask her. Ask Johnny. If he's being truthful with you over in the corner, he'll tell you what he's offered her.
As far as some of the other people I've mentioned, I would bet they would play.

So you like Wade Crane (today) over Sparky?

I know Sparky very well. I just ran into Wade and asked him to beat'em about last month. I like Sparky big over Wade. The younger Wade, maybe not.

Crawfish,
(Check your PM's too)

Allen Hopkins, I would bet the house on him if they played a 10 ahead set.
I would take Hopkins over her if they ever played again. I think her win over him was an upset. But that's my point. She is CAPABLE of beating almost any one of the top 50 or so men players. That doesn't mean she's the favorite, that just means SHE IS CAPABLE of winning. Being "tortured" would be like a C player against her.
Again, Steve said what I wanted to say the best so far. She is no easy pickins.

Yea, Fragged got me there too. I read over that list too quick. Sparky beats Wade, so put him on my "short" list as well.

Listen, I'll be back later on but my wife's been calling me for the last half hour. I can't tell her to wait anymore, cause she knows them words just like I do.

I would like to play Allison a challenge match 10 ball race to 50 on a Diamond table with slightly worn cloth and 4 1/2 inch pockets. I don't consider myself in the top 100 players in the world and woul be very interested and curious on how it would come out.If I had to predict the final score it would be Fisher 50 Incardona 44.I would be willing to play for $5,000 and would be willing to get Allison staked if she chooses to exercise that option. In either case it would be fun,and interesting and then we would get a better read on her game. I need 3 months to get in shape if I possibly can get into shape. How about it Allison??

Button up your shirt, Billy...Your heart's showing

I might be the minority but I might actually take Allison or Karen over Billy at this point. I know he is still used to playing one pocket for some high stakes but in nine ball, with the added pressure of losing to a lady, I think I still might take the ladies who are on tv 10 times a year.
