The bottom cue is a Hoppe style made very fancy by Gus. It is amazing in person.

The middle Gus, well it speaks for itself, what do you think?

The top cue is made with Wico points. According to Barry hid Dad only made around 7-8 of these, and out of those who knows whats left. The cue is in like new condition, and I gotta tell ya I really dig those colorfull points.

These are 3 great Gus cues. Loose the flash and use only natural light and take the photos of your very special cues to the next level. Please call me if you have any questions. Best regards.

Nice cues Gus sure could build them, man they are beautiful. he had a way with the veneer colors and the length of the points, balanced with the ring work and inlays or boxes in the butt sleve. He built my favorite cues of all time and those are classic examples, the big ivory ones are impressive too but there is something about the player cues he made that really fires me up. And when you think of it there are guys 30 years later copying his designs that valadates what I just said, copying is the sincerest form of flattery-isnt that the saying?

Then seeing Barry carring on the tradation is wonderful, putting his ideas and touches on Gus's work is special to me. Nobody loves the Szamboti familys work more than I do, I learned of it 22 years ago when a friend of Gus's told me about Gus and his passion to build the best cues in the world. Then let me use his cue at that moment I felt the passion it touched me deeply. back then it was a impossible dream for me to afford one, but I never lost that dream and when I was able to I captured it I did, and have built a nice collection of their work. Not the biggest, but that dosent matter it isnt a contest. I have had numerous offers on my Szam's from time to time and they will never be sold. I wish the world had more Gus and Barry's in it.

I want to cry, I cry over Disney movies too. I love those cues. Thank you for showing them. poolrod.

Wow!
Those are some great looking cues.
But if I were to ask for one it has to be that hoppe cue as well.

Thanks for the pictures.

Funny story

At the DCC this year, Rick Howard told me a funny story about Gus cues.

He said Gus cues were universially sold for $400 and whenever you had made some extra gambling you bought up a few of Gus cues on the road. When times got bad you could always sell them pretty easily for the $400, so it was like money in the bank, and you got a pretty decent cue to play with in the meantime.

Sounds alot like the TS sneaky petes a few years ago.

Just a story I found interesting.
