I just picked this up, and really love the way it hits...

It is my first Scruggs cue. Can anyone estimate when it was made?
Likely materials used? I think the rings are tulipwood.

I have never seen a TS sneaky like that. There is a good chance it has been altered IMO. Nick could probably give you some educated insight.

hmmm.

I am concerned about the direction this is heading... I put in a call and left a voicemail at Scruggs cue. The number on the web page. Not sure how long it will be before I hear back, but will post back what I find out. Any other impressions are welcome.

one of the shafts

One of the shafts is a good inch+ shorter than the other, and has a different ferrule. It looks to me like the ferrule had to be replaced and some overall length was lost in the process.

This cue is a monster

It is definately a Scruggs cue. Definately. I would love to own it.
Nick :)

Thanks Nick. That is a relief to hear from someone who knows a lot more than I do about Scruggs cues. On the positive side, regardless of anything else, it is the best hitting cue I have ever picked up.

that is good ia m happy for you ,,i know how it feel to get a fake and it not feel so good,,best of luck with your cue,,

Scruggs

If you love the way it hits don't worry about anything else.

Play with it.

(Just got of the phone with Mike Webb and he said it is a Scruggs)

If I were you , I would hold on to this cue. It is unique. Very unique. Getting rid of it would be a mistake.
