Ingredients Changeds in Red Bull?

Yeah, too much caffeine- like anything else- ain't good for ya. I recently cut back to around 4-5 cups per day from 7-8 and also no longer drink any caffeinated stuff after high noon (or at least try not to). I found that I do sleep better and my heart doesn't get out-of-sync so much. My caffeine tolerance is still quite high though.

It seems that it's also possible to build a tolerance to vitamin B12 as well- I can take 5000mcg (5mg) of B12 now and it appears to affect me only a small amount.

It may well be that tolerance build-up is the factor in reduced Red Bull effectiveness, JMO of course.

I do like the idea of either substance to help sustain alertness during a high run shot in 14.1-

I drink 6 cups of coffee every morning then that's it for the day. Been doing this for years, however, during the 10 or 12 years that I shot competitive pistol I never drank any on match day and neither did any of the other shooters. If I thought it would help my pool game I would quit right now. I did it with booze 4 1/2 months ago and while I'm glad I did it hasn't helped my game.

There's a drink from Inko's called white tea energy that contains natural tea caffeine. I just finished a box of 24 (over about a month) and never experienced a single jitter. They claim it's "jitter-free" and I definitely agree.

Anyone know if they have weakened Red Bull in some way? I use to run around like I was on speed, now not so much. Johnnyt

maybe you jsut got used to it?

if yo uhave any old cans you could check to see if they lowered the caffein.

i actually keep caffein pills in my case incase i feel like staying up longer

According to wikipedia, Red Bull contains Taurine, Glucuronolactone, Caffeine, B vitamins, Sucrose and Glucose. The main stimulant is Caffiene, and it contains 80 mg/245 ml of caffeine, or the same as a 8 ounce cup of coffee.

Citing another wikipedia article, tolerance for caffeine builds up quickly for heavy coffee and energy drinkers.

Cocaine controversy
In April and June 2009, batches of "Red Bull Cola" drinks imported from Austria were found to contain between 0.1 - 0.3 micrograms of cocaine per litre, according to Hong Kong officials. In Taiwan it was found that the importer was due to launch a marketing campaign the next day. In Taiwan it is punishable by death, or a life sentence in prison to import cocaine. In Germany 11 out of 16 states had already banned the drinks by 25 May 2009.[2][3][4][5][6]

Testing of Red Bull Energy Drink and its variations has shown that a person with a low tolerance for cocaine would have to consume two million cans of the drink in a single sitting before becoming critically ill from the cocaine.[22] However, this finding is irrelevant since distribution of cocaine is illegal at any quantity in Taiwan. At this point, no further action has been taken on the matter in Taiwan.
